A little more than eight hours later, we pulled into a parking space in front of the Hiraani pack meeting house. It was a large single story building made of a silvery gray brick. It was a pretty building with large windows and I couldn't help but be impressed by the simple but elegant design. Ray looked over at me and gave me a reassuring smile. I returned the smile and opened the car door. When we had left this morning, I was angry at being forced to come, but over the last several hours, Ray's positive energy rubbed off on me and I couldn't help but feel better about the whole situation. Within two hours, he had me laughing at his stupid jokes and I knew things would be okay.
Shutting the car door, I waited for Ray to come around and I followed him up the door of the meeting house. He rang the bell and within moments, we were being buzzed in. Ray squeezed my shoulder and I followed him inside. At the desk right inside was an older woman with grey hair. She had a nametag that identified her as Gwendolyn. "Good evening. May I help you?"
"Yes. My name is Ray. I am the Alpha and pack leader of the Nephele pack. I am here to meet with an Alpha Kim Namjoon. He is expecting me." Ray's voice was polite and Gwendolyn picked up the phone to her right immediately, pushing a button.
"Yes of course Alpha. One moment please." Gwendolyn spoke into the phone and I could hear her letting an Alpha Namjoon know that we had arrived. Gwendolyn made a sound of confirmation then hung up the phone. "Alpha Namjoon will see you now. He is in the pack meeting room with the rest of the members of the council. It is the second door on the right."
Ray gave Gwendolyn a smile. "Thank you."
The door to the left buzzed and Ray pulled it open, gesturing for me to precede him. I walked through and the moment I did, scents filled my nose. One was a combination of berries and pine, while the other smelt like oranges and fresh cut flowers. Both were intoxicating and I could feel the instant rush of arousal wash over me. No! No! This can't be happening right now! More than anything I wanted to fight it, but I knew it was too late. Somewhere in this building, somewhere close by, I had not one, but two mates.
Ray must have noticed my footsteps falter because he turned to look at me. "Y/N? Are... are you alright?"
Not wanting to worry him, I pasted a smile on my face and nodded. "Yes. I'm alright."
Ray studied me for a moment then nodded. We stopped in front of the door that Gwendolyn had directed us too and Ray knocked swiftly. A deep voice called out 'come in' and Ray pushed the door open. The scents grew stronger and I could feel the blood drain from my face as I realized my mates were in this room.
In the middle of the room there was a large table with seven men and one woman surrounding it. A man with blond hair and dimples stood up, along with the pretty woman who was seated next to him. "Good evening Alpha. I am Alpha Kim Namjoon, leader of the Hiraani Pack. This is my mate and pack Luna, Adirha. Welcome and thank you for coming."
Namjoon stuck out a hand and my brother took it, giving him a hearty handshake. "It's a pleasure to meet you Alpha Namjoon. Thank you for allowing us on your land. This is my sister, Y/N."
Namjoon smiled kindly at me. "It is a pleasure Ms. Y/N." Not sure what to say, I nodded my head submissively. Gesturing to the table, Namjoon pointed at seats. "Please sit and I can introduce you to the council."
I had been so caught up in meeting the pack leader and his pretty mate that I temporarily forgot about the scents in the room. I tried to take a look around wondering who could be my mate and I noticed instantly that two of the members of the council were eyeing me strangely. One had dark blond hair and pretty coffee colored eyes. He was staring at me strangely. The man next to him had dark hair and a look of hatred so deep that I had to stop myself from flinching. Fuck! Are these two my mates?
