Chapter 7

Yoongi POV:

I don't know how long we sat there with Charon and Atlas, waiting for Jimin and Seren to return with our omega, but soon the scent of sweet vanilla and peppermint grew stronger. I looked up to see the three of them coming towards us. Jimin was holding her hand and even though a part of me wanted to yank her away from him, I could see it was the only thing holding her steady. Even from where I was, I could see the trust between them and knew that they had already built a strong friendship, one she would need to help her get through this situation.

"Jimin's an omega. He's not going to take your mate." Taehyung's voice was soft in my ear and when I looked over at him, he had an amused smile on his face. I flushed when I realized he had figured out what I was thinking, but I couldn't help it. Seeing her comfortable around him was something I hated, especially since I knew her feelings towards Hoseok and me.

"I know. Just... just seeing another man close to her hurts." I turned my attention back to my omega and when she got closer, I could feel the tension in Hoseok's frame, who was seated next to me. I could tell he wanted to go to her, but he would give her time. The look in his eyes was filled with softness, something that he showed only to me and I knew he wanted her, wanted her almost desperately. His hands were clenched tightly on his thighs and as she approached, we both stood. Her eyes met mine and she looked away, almost dismissively and it made something inside of me break, something shatter to know that my mate, the little omega who was supposed to be mine, wanted to reject me, wanted to walk away from me.

"Rina?" Charon's voice was soft and it took everything in me to hold back the snarl when she pushed past me and hurried into his arms. I could hear the soft sounds of her sobs and it made my heart break even more to know that my mate loved someone that wasn't me, wasn't us. "Oh baby. I know. I know. I w-wish it could be different too. I wish you could stay here with me, in my arms, but..." Charon's words trailed off and I knew he was going to let her go.

Y/N leaned back and looked up at him, her pretty eyes bloodshot and her face wet with tears. I could see that Charon was trying to hold in his own tears as he wiped her face. "I... I wish I could stay with you. You... you took care of me and gave me love, something I didn't think I would ever have. I lo..." Charon pressed his fingers to her lips, stopping her words.

"Please. Please don't say those words right now. I don't... I don't think I'd be able to let you go if I heard them again." The look on Charon's face was broken and Y/N let out a sigh before nodding. Wrapping his arms around her, Charon pulled her back into his chest and I could see that he wanted to keep her there forever, hold onto her and never let her go. Looking over her head at Hoseok and me, he leveled a steady gaze at us, one that made me flinch and reach out for Hoseok's reassuring hand. "You fucking better take care of her."

Hoseok went to speak, but was interrupted by Seren. "I'm going to take Rina to get her things. She... she can take what she needs for now and we will send the rest." From the look on her face, I could see she wanted to get the little omega out of the tense situation, one that would make her only more hesitant about joining us, about coming with us, about becoming part of our pack, our bond. Placing a hand on Y/N's shoulder, Seren gently tugged her away from Charon. "Come on love."

I could see the way Y/N wanted to refuse, but she let out a defeated sigh and nodded. Her eyes darted up to Charon's face and he bent down and kissed her nose, making her smile. "It's alright. You're going to be all right. I promise you."

"Okay. I trust you." Y/N's words were soft, but sincere and the way she uttered them to him, but clearly showed the suspicion to us made my heart break just a little bit more.
