Chapter 13

Yoongi POV:

After Y/N and Jimin left the conference room, my mind kept drifting back to my mate and the time I had spent with her last night. I was still surprised that she had even let me into her apartment, let alone letting me scent her. I knew she didn't want to be here, that she was missing Charon and the idea of that terrified me. It scared me more than I wanted to admit knowing that her heart belonged to someone else. I was afraid that she was going to eventually ask to go back, to go to the man who clearly loved her and treated her better than I knew we ever could.

I knew the mate bond was calling her to us and that it was the only reason she was here in the first place. Selene had allowed her to be mated with someone that wasn't her mate; it made me worry that eventually Selene would see she wasn't happy here and would want to go back, want to stay with Charon. Part of me felt like shit for taking her away from him, but in my heart, my soul, I knew she belonged with us. She was the piece we didn't even know we were missing until she disappeared without a trace.

"You alright?" Hoseok's voice was soft, but was enough to pull me out of my thoughts and back to the land meeting that was currently taking place with Ray and the rest of the council. From the looks that he kept giving us, I knew Y/N's brother didn't have a single bit of trust for either Hoseok or me and it was making me uneasy to be there in the same room with the intimidating alpha.

Shrugging my shoulders, I said nothing, not wanting Hoseok to worry about me. However I should have known better, known that he knew me better than I knew myself.

"You can go if you want." Hoseok squeezed my hand under the table. "It's okay. Go see her. Go see our mate." I gave him a curious look and Hoseok nodded his head. "Go." Turning his attention to Namjoon, Hoseok cleared his throat. "Excuse me alpha, but if you don't mind, I am going to send Yoongi to our mate."

Namjoon hesitated but then nodded. "Yes. Of course. Go ahead Yoongi."

Not wanting to give him a chance to change his mind, I quickly stood and after pecking Hoseok's cheek, I headed out of the conference room, eager to find my omega.

Leaving the pack house, I headed out into the sunshine of the pretty afternoon. Unsure of where my mate would be, but guessing at her location, I headed towards the clinic. I knew she wasn't familiar with the rest of the land so I figured it was one of the places she would be comfortable at. When I got closer to the clinic, her sweet scent filled my nose and I knew I had found her. When I came around the corner of the building, Y/N was seated on the porch steps with Jimin. They were laughing about something and I couldn't help but feel envious at seeing the other omega so close to my mate, even though I knew deep down that Jimin would never do anything inappropriate with her.

They booth look up as I approached and I was surprised by the tiny smile on Y/N's face. I had expected tension or uneasiness, but I didn't sense any of those things coming from her and her scent remained as sweet as ever. "Um... hi."

"Hey Yoongi." Jimin's smile was bright. "What brings you over here? Bored of the land meetings?"

I nodded my head. "Yeah. Something like that." Fiddling with my fingers, I turned my eyes to my mate. "Um... what are... what are you two doing?"

Jimin looked over at Y/N, who started laughing again. "I was just telling Y/N some of the funny stories about our pack." My mouth dropped open and Jimin shook his head. "Don't worry. I didn't tell her that story. Not yet at least."

Y/N turned to Jimin, her eyes curious. "What story?" Jimin shook his head again and Y/N pinched his side, the familiarity between the two of them making me more envious than I wanted to admit. "You have to tell me. You can't leave me hanging like that."
