Chapter 8 - There for you

Joe’s Pov

Last night I stayed round Demi’s, after what she had told me I couldn’t just leave her, I wanted to be there for her; and now I know what has happened in the past and after she showed how hurt she was by it, I wanted to stay the night to make sure she was okay.

Demi’s Pov

I woke up the next morning with Joe’s arms still around me, the same way we fell asleep last night, I am glad I told him about my past; I hate lies and secrets. I love Joe and I would hate for them to destroy our relationship.

When I opened my eyes Joe was already looking at me, I smiled at him. “You stayed” I said “Yeah, I didn’t want to leave you” he replied

“What time is it?” I asked, knowing we had to go to school

“6:30am” he replied. Good I still have a little while until I need to get up. I normally get up at 7.

We laid there for another half an hour until my alarm clock went off; telling me it was 7am. “It’s 7. We need to get up.” I told Joe.

“Yeah” he groaned

We both got up and I went to have a shower and when I came out Joe was dressed and ready to leave. “You get ready fast” I said

“Well, I need to go and change my top. So I am just going to go over to my house. Okay?”

“Yeah, okay. Are you coming back here?”

“Well, it’s still early, so if that’s okay?”

“Of course it is!”

Joe then left and went to his house. The room felt weird without him, kind of an empty feeling. 

 I got dressed and applied my make-up, then there was a knock on the door, I opened it and let Joe in. We both went into the kitchen and got something for breakfast. I looked at my phone; it was 7:50am. “The bus will be here in 10 minutes” I told Joe

We walked outside and waited for the bus. When it arrived we sat down next to each other and Joe put his arm around me.

When we got to school, Joe and I went to our lockers and got our books for the day, we had different classes. Joe pulled me into a hug and said “I’ll see you later babe”

“See you later” I replied whilst hugging back

At lunch Joe and I grabbed a table and sat next to each other, this girl came over and said “Hey, can I sit with you guys?”

“Yeah sure” I said. I really wanted to be alone with Joe, but I didn’t mind company, it might be good to make friends, I only really know Joe and I have been in this school for almost 6 months. She sat down with her tray then said “Hey, my name is Miley”

“My name is Demi and this is my boyfriend Joe” I replied

Joe waved to her and said “I haven’t seen you around”

“Well I just moved here actually, to this school anyway. I used to go to Greenford High, but I didn’t like it there and my parents wanted to move house, so it was just as easy for me to move school as well.” Miley answered

“Oh” I said, whilst nodding

We finished our lunch then we all headed to our final class. “Well it was nice meeting you Miley, see you tomorrow?”

“Yeah, sure” She replied

Miley seems like a nice person, she did move at a bit of an awkward time though, with graduation only a week away. I wonder why? I know it is easy for her grades to get transferred but why now? Maybe something really bad happened in her last school, I know how that feels. I am sure I will find out the whole story sooner or later, I know it can be hard to talk about things that have happened in the past. If she wants to tell me she will tell me in her own time.

Joe’s Pov

I sat down with Demi for lunch, and then this girl named Miley came over, she seemed pretty nice. Why move now though? Whatever the reason I am sure it is a good one, I mean with graduation nearly here it’s a bit strange.

Miley’s Pov

I sat down at a table with two other people at lunch; they told me their names were Demi and Joe. They seemed really nice, I hope we can be friends, I don’t make friends easily and after what happened at Greenford High, I really need some friends!

I saw them on the bus this morning, and when I walked into the lunch hall, it was all a bit daunting; I don’t know anybody and everyone is sitting and chatting in friendship groups.

I looked around the lunch hall, and that is when I spotted Demi and Joe, I remembered them from the bus. I went over and asked if I could sit with them, I was glad when Demi said yes.

When the bell rang for the end of lunch Demi said that she would see me tomorrow, I hope that means that she likes me, as I said I really need some friends now!

Demi’s Pov

After my last class I went to my locker and sorted out what I needed, then I closed my locker and noticed Joe was standing there. “Hey babe” he said, pulling me into a hug.

“Hey” I replied hugging back

“We better get out to the bus, otherwise we will be walking!”

“Yeah, quick!”

We got out to the bus just in time and we sat next to each other, Miley came on after us and sat on the seat in front of us. She turned around and said “Thanks for letting me sit with you at lunch”

“It’s okay, I know what it’s like to be the new girl” I replied

“You do?” She questioned

“Yeah, I only moved here about 6 months ago”

“Oh” she said whilst nodding her head

Miley then turned around and Joe put his arm around me. Joe and I get off at stop 2, but when we arrived at the 1st stop Miley got up, waved and said “See you tomorrow and thanks again”

Miley’s Pov

I sat in front of Demi and Joe on the bus; I then turned around and said thank-you. Demi then told me that she only started Brookeridge High about 6 months ago. I was surprised, she seemed like she had been there longer.

Demi's Pov

The bus pulled off and soon arrived at our stop, Joe and I both got up and off the bus, the bus left. Joe and I stood there on the sidewalk; he said “I’ll see you tomorrow Dems”

“Yeah see you tomorrow Joe”

I then crossed the road and went into my house, up to my bedroom and got out the mountain of homework that I had.
