I woke up the day next and Demi was still sleeping, I decided to let her sleep a little longer; I got up and decided to phone the doctors for her. I dialled the number...
“Hello, how may I help you” The women said on the other end of the line
“Hi, can I make an appointment for my girlfriend please?”
“Yes, sure. What’s her name?” she asked
“Demetria Devonne Lovato” I replied “Oh, and would it be possible to see a female doctor?”
I could hear her clicking on her computer, and then she said “Okay, is 2pm okay?”
“For today?” I asked
“Yes” she replied
“That’s great” I replied
“Okay, so I have booked an appointment for Demetria Lovato at 2pm today with Dr Claire Reed” she confirmed
“Thank-You” I replied
I then put the phone down and went back up to Demi’s room to wake her up, it was 12 noon, and the appointment was at 2. I knelt down beside the bed and kissed her forehead; she opened her eyes and smiled at me. “How are you feeling today babe?” I asked
“Okay, at the moment” she replied
“That’s good. I have phoned the doctors and booked an appointment for you.”
A worried expression came across her face but she said “Okay”
“Dems, don’t be worried, it will be okay”
“Yeah” she replied as she slowly sat up and swung her legs round off the bed, she suddenly put her hand to her mouth, closed her eyes, and breathed deeply.
“Are you okay?” I asked
“Yeah, I thought I was going to be sick”
“Oh” I replied
Demi then got up and went into the bathroom with some clothes to get changed, she came out and then said “What time is the appointment?”
“2pm” I replied
She pulled out her phone to look at the time “Okay, well I suppose I better try and eat something before we go”
“Sounds like a good idea” I replied
Demi’s Pov
We both went downstairs and into the kitchen, I walked in first to find and note from my mom, it said “I have left you some vitamins, please don’t forget to take them” I then looked beside the note, where she had left 2 different types of vitamins, I read the labels “Folic Acid and Multi-Vitamins” I read aloud.
Joe looked over my shoulder “Is that what your mom has left?”
“Yeah” I replied then continued reading the note aloud “Don’t forget the get a doctor’s appointment and please try and eat something. Love Mom xx”
I stared at the two bottles which were half full of pills “That was sweet of your mom to think of you like that” Joe said
“Yeah, I suppose”
Joe put his arms around me and said “Dems, she is only trying to be supportive and do what is best for you and the baby”
“I know” I replied
