Chapter 28 - Birthday Plans (Part 2)

-The Next Morning-

Demi’s Pov

I woke up the next morning to my phone making a noise constantly, it was Miley and Selena both texting me their replies to the party invite; I let out a deep breath and grabbed my phone to look at their messages:

 Selena: Sure sounds great, what time?

 Miley: Yeah, I will deffo be there, what time does it start?

I text them both back: Be at mine for around 6 :)

Within seconds they have both replied:

Selena: Okay !!!

Miley: Can’t wait :P

I put my phone down and closed my eyes but only to be woken by a sicky feeling, I sat up and breathed deeply hoping that it would pass, I felt Joe sit up and say “Dems, are you okay?”

“Nope, I feel sick” I replied

He sat behind me and rubbed my back, which helped a little but the sicky feeling still wasn’t shifting, it suddenly got worse, I got up ran to the sink holding my hair out of the way. Joe came up behind me and grabbed my hair with one hand and rubbed my back up and down with the other. When I had been sick I lifted my head and brushed my teeth “I’m sorry” I said once I had rinsed

“Dems, don’t be sorry” he said as he pulled me into a hug “It’s not your fault”

He held me in hug for a while and then released me; we both walked into the kitchen and I took my tablets whilst Joe made toast for breakfast; we ate it and then started to get ready to go out.

I walked up to my bedroom, got dressed, applied some light make-up and grabbed the list that we made yesterday. While I was in my room Joe had grabbed his stuff and had gone into the guest bedroom to get changed. I walked out of my room and Joe was already waiting “You ready?” he asked

“Yep” I replied

We then walked out of the front door, got into Joe’s car and drove to the grocery store

We arrived at the grocery store and we went inside, the cool air from the air conditioning felt good when we walked in as it was so hot outside already. I grabbed a cart and Joe and I walked to where the snack items were; we grabbed lots of packs a chips and some pots of dip and then headed to the drinks isle.

I picked up some bottles of Diet Coke, Mountain Dew and Orangeade; Joe picked up some bottles of Lemonade and we placed the four different drinks into the cart.

We then decided to head towards the freezers and to where they kept the ice-cream, I picked out a pot of cookie dough and a pot of chocolate ice-cream; Joe picked out a pot of mint and a pot of vanilla ice-cream; we both placed our choices in the cart. “We better pay for this before the ice-cream melts” I said

“Yeah” Joe agreed

We headed towards to till and placed our items on the conveyer and paid for them, we then headed out to Joe’s car. When we went outside, the hot air hit me, I suddenly felt all dizzy.

“Are you okay babe?” Joe asked “You look a little pale”

“I’ll be okay, I just need a drink” I replied

When we got to the car Joe handed me a bottle of water from one of the compartments and I sat in the passenger’s seat and slowly drank some while Joe loaded the shopping into the back of the car.

When he was finished he closed the door and then got into the driver’s seat, I closed the passenger’s side door and then Joe said “How you feeling now?”

“A bit better” I said; I still felt a bit dizzy, but nowhere near as much as I did before I sat down and had a drink.

Joe started the car and quickly drove home so that the ice-cream didn’t melt; when we got home we both quickly got the shopping inside and into the fridge and freezer. We both then sat down in the living room, Joe put his arm around me and said “Are you okay now?”

“Yeah, I’m much better thanks; I hadn’t drunk anything this morning, so that was probably why I felt all dizzy”

“Oh, well as long as you’re okay” he said finding my hand on the other side of me and holding it tight.

“I’m fine Joe” I replied

-That Evening-

At 7, mom got home from work and when she opened the fridge she said “Well, I can see you have been shopping today then Demi”

“Yeah, sorry mom” I replied from the living room

“No, it’s fine; just not all of the drinks need to go in the fridge right now”

“Oh, sorry” I yelled from the living room

I heard mom then starting to take some of the drinks out of the fridge and place them somewhere in the kitchen.

I came out into the kitchen, “What would you like for dinner?” mom asked

“I dunno” I replied

“Well, how about some chicken and noodles?” she suggested

“Sounds good” I replied

-30 minutes Later-

“Dinner’s ready” mom called; Joe and I have been watching TV whilst mom has been cooking and when she said this we both go up and went into the kitchen. Mom handed us both a plate full of food, I grabbed my iron tablet for this evening and then all 3 of us went a sat down at the table.

When we were finished Joe and I took the plates out and washed them up while mom went into her room; Joe and I then went up to my room and got ready for bed.

We both got into bed and Joe put his arm around me and held my hand, having him there when I go to sleep and then him still being there when I wake up feels really special, it makes me feel special, because I know that he wants to stay with me.

It’s mine and Joe’s joint party in just under a week, I’m glad that Miley and Selena are coming and also Kevin, Nick and Joe’s parents are coming. When we were sitting eating dinner I asked mom whether she had asked dad and she said she had, but that she hadn’t got a reply yet, so they might not be able to come, but I can still hope they are able to. I miss them, I haven’t actually seen them since we moved here, which was over 10 months ago, and I don’t think any of them know about my pregnancy, well, unless mom has told them.
