Tonight is the Melbourne show, the last night of the Australian tour, and I can't seem to sit still. The girls are starting to file in for their meet-and-greet while I sit in a corner, my knee bouncing up and down, and chewing on my fingernails. Tonight after the show, we will be flying back to L.A. Which means I get to see Brett and Rachel in about 24 hours!

I usually watch from the corner during these things, trying not to get in the way, and I typically manage to float under the radar. Girls tend to be a little too distracted by the fact that they are in the presence of their idols to even notice me in the corner.

However, since the boys are running a little late, a couple of the girls have glanced around the room and spotted me. I make accidental eye contact with one of them and she gives me a friendly smile. I, of course, smile back, but then she motions me over.

Not really sure what to do, but definitely not wanting to seem rude, I stand and make my way over to her and her friend.

"Hi! We were just wondering if we could have a picture?" the girl asks, holding out her phone.

"Of course," I answer with a smile, leaning in so she can take the selfie.

After that's over with, the two girls start chatting my ear off. They are really sweet, but at one point, the conversation takes a dangerous turn to mine and Luke's relationship.

"So are you guys like serious?" the girl looks at me with a huge grin.

I honestly have no idea how to answer her, it seems like either answer I give is the wrong one. But bless the timing--the boys come strolling into the room right at that very moment, eliciting a few squeals and stealing the attention of everyone, including my curious new friends.

The fans are told to line up, and in groups of two or three, they pose with the boys. The girls I spoke with earlier are toward the end of the line. After their turn, they hang back a moment, stealing glances at me and giggling. I'm a little unsettled, but I try not to think much about it. They motion me over once more, and reluctantly this time, I oblige.

"Could we maybe get a picture of you and Luke together?" they ask me.

"Ummm..."

One of the girls grasps onto my arm. "Oh, please! You're our OTP!"

I snort a little at that and glance over my shoulder to where Luke has been taking pictures. He's done now, and is already staring back at me. When we make eye contact, he raises his eyebrows as if asking if these girls are bothering me.

The girls notice our silent exchange. "Oh, Luke! Luke, come here!" one of them calls.

He approaches us and comes to stand beside me. He doesn't make any moves to touch me, but his stance is protective all the same.

"Can we get a picture of you two together?" the girl asks again. I watch his face as he reacts. He seems to be a little surprised at first, but quickly replaces that expression with a wide smile.

"Sure."

He loops an arm around my waist and bends down slightly so that our heads are on a closer level. The flash goes off.

"Twitter is going to love this! Half the fandom is all 'they're so not together,' 'they aren't affectionate at all!' But we've always known you guys were real! We could feel the chemistry in the video!"
