It's my last day in L.A. for a couple of weeks, and all I want to do is spend it with Brett and Rachel. When I come out of my room, I'm not surprised to find Rachel already in the kitchen making a cup of coffee. I'm also not surprised that Brett is still conked out in his room.

"Morning," I greet her as I pass by to wake up Brett.

"Good luck," she says with a snort, guessing what I'm about to attempt.

I open Brett's door to reveal him sprawled out on his stomach across his bed, his sheet only covering a small strip of his back. He's always been the kind of person who can sleep without a blanket, and in the summer, he usually does. That rules out stripping the covers off of him to get him out of bed, so instead, I perch on the side by his waist.

"Brett?" I coo, gently pushing at his shoulder.

He grumbles something unintelligible in protest.

"Wake up. We're supposed to hang out today."

More grumbling. Fine, he leaves me no choice.

I sit up onto my knees before tossing myself out across his back. I lay straight over him and put my arms around his waist. I know my hands are cold, so I make sure to press them against his stomach.

"Steph," he groans, shaking his whole body in an attempt to get me off.

My grip tightens, making it even harder for him to breathe than it already is with a full grown human on his back.

"I'm not letting go until you get up," I state matter-of-factly.

"How am I supposed to get up with you on my back?" he mumbles dryly.

"Fair point." I start to lift myself up, but decide last minute to swing around and just sit on top of him. "You promise you're going to get up now?"

In response, he sticks his pinky into the air. With a smile, I twine it with mine, and then hop down to the floor.

He sits up and stretches with a yawn. "So what are we doing today?" he asks with a sleepy grin.

"You said it was my choice," I remind him, "so we're going to binge-watch all the episodes of Bones I missed while I was gone. After we go and get the proper snacks, of course."

We emerge from his room to find Rachel sitting at the counter with three mugs of coffee in front of her. I inform her of our plans for the day and she nods in agreement.

"Sounds good," she says, just as a knock sounds at the door.

We exchange glances. "Are you guys expecting anyone?" I ask.

"Nope."

"I don't think so."

Putting my mug back on the counter, I head for the door. When I look through the peephole, my heart rate speeds up. I open the door with a smile.

"Luke? What are you-?"

But I don't get to finish my question before his lips are on mine. I immediately respond, kissing him back, until I hear my brother clear his throat and remember that we're not alone. I place my hands on his chest and push gently, which seems to be our signal. He pulls away with a grin on his face.

"What are you doing here?" I get to finish my question this time.

His grin widens, pulling at his lip ring and drawing my attention back to his mouth. "I couldn't stop thinking about you after last night. I had to see you."

He's talking about last night after the dinner with my parents, and I know I'm blushing at the memory. The truth is, I barely slept at all after he left. I guess we both left each other wanting more.
