Y/N POV

I have gotten used to another person in my place. It has been a weird adjustment for the both of us, but I think we make it work.

I placed the toast in my toaster oven and looked at my calendar for things I had written down. I scan until I find today's day: January 25th. "Shit," I accidentally curse out loud. "Could you stop that smell, it's burning my nostrils?" A groggy voice came from behind the couch.

I took a whiff of the air, and looked at the toaster. I saw the once white bread turn a very dark shade of brown. I rush to the toaster, and hastily take out the burnt toast to chuck it in the trash can. I groan in annoyance as Loki groaned at my groaning, "All I want is sleep."

I huffed at his response, and replaced the bread. Soon after, I had toast and jam with banana's on top for two. I brought my plate to the pull out couch bed, where Loki was reading. "I thought you wanted to sleep," I said, placing his plate on the coffee table. "I tried, but your excessive movement was too loud," he responded as he put his book next to him and sat up.

I rolled my eyes in response and returned to the kitchen to make tea. "What was all that grumbling about anyway?" He asked. I eyed the calendar again as I placed my mug under the Keurig, just to make sure I wasn't hallucinating. "It's my sisters birthday today, and I totally forgot to get her something."

Once I returned to the living area, Loki had a puzzled look on his face as he to a bite of his toast. "Why the face?" I asked. "Birth...day..." He repeated. I sometimes forget that he's not a normal human. "Some people make it a bigger deal than others. It just celebrating the day you were taken from your mothers womb."

"What do most people do?" He asked. I shrugged, "They hang out with their closest friends and relatives who give gifts, sing, and eat cake. The only issue is my sister is the hardest person to give a gift to."

Loki cocked his head, "It can't be that hard."

I raised an eyebrow, "Try giving a gift to someone who already has everything." My sister is definitely the more successful one in my family, starting her own granola bar company that has grown into other healthy foods throughout the years. She is one of those people who will buy it if she needs it, and her having lots of money definitely helps. "Because of this, I'm probably going to have to leave you here as I shop and head over to my sisters place in Long Island."

"Are you sure you're allowed to do that?" He asked.

I crossed my arms, "Why wouldn't I?"

"It's only because I am supposed to be under supervision at all times, and you not being here, violates that."

"Damn, you actually want to get better, huh?"

Loki looked down and a hint of color touched his cheeks. "I'll talk to Clint."

I walked into my room and grabbed my phone, scrolling in my contacts until I saw Clint's name. He picked up on the last ring, "Sorry Y/N, I'm about to go on a mission, make it quick."

"I didn't mean to take up any of your time, but if I have to go somewhere, outside my apartment, do I have to bring Loki with me?"

"Yes, that's what supervision is, gotta go. Bye." With that she heard a beep and the call ended. That was not really that helpful, I thought. Well, if he wants to come, I wouldn't mind the company. I stepped into the kitchen seeing Loki wash the dishes. "I need you to be ready within the hour, because we're going to the mall and then on a train," I told him. He just nodded in response, continuing his handiwork.

I looked in my small closet for clothes. After causing quite a ruckus, I flopped on my bed. I then saw a crack in my door and a head that moved. "Were you watching me change?!" I said flabbergasted, opening the door to see his full attire, which consisted of a dark green silk top with black slacks and black shoes. "More or less. I needed to ask you a question but wanted to hear you struggle," he calmly stated. He raised his eyebrows and looked behind me, "Your bedroom looks like a mess."

"I know that, genius. I don't know what to wear." He furrowed his eyebrows together in thought and went to the closet. I heard him flick through hangers until he stopped at an article of clothing you couldn't see. He then grabbed shoes from below, and showed me the outfit. It was a rainbow striped sweater with plaid trousers and black short boots with a tip.

"Not too shabby," I said as I took the articles of clothing from his grasp. There was a lingering of both of our fingers that made me blush. I was about to replace my t-shirt, before I side eyed Loki still standing there. I shooed him out of my bedroom and made sure I closed the door shut before changing.

I grabbed my keys, phone and wallet into my small satchel. We walked out the door and down the stairs. We took the subway to Penn Station and just made the LIRR right on time that brought us close to Roosevelt Field Mall. Once we stepped inside, Loki's eyed widened in awe. "Where...has this place been all my life?" I shook my head and chuckled, "It's just a mall, don't get too lost, we have another train to catch later."

I did not realize Loki would be such a shopaholic, as he looked with eyes glazed in practically ever store. I was flicking though LOFT blazers, eyed each of them until I looked out of the corner of my eye and saw no one. I looked back to the clothes until I realized something. Loki, where is that bastard, I thought. I craned my neck around the store and did not see him. That was, until I looked through the entrance and saw a tall male with black hair in a Louis Vuitton store.

I briskly walked into the nicely furnished store, and saw Loki trying to charm the saleswoman. I heard his voice as I got closer, "Aahh, you are right. This one feels handcrafted by the finest workers. I do prefer the one with the gol-"

I grasped his shoulders and cut him off, "Yes, and I prefer something affordable." I looked back at the saleswoman and gave her a cheeky smile as she eyed me weirdly.

I ushered him out of the store, and brought him to the side, "You can't wander off like that!" I scolded. "But those bags looked exquisite."

I sighed, "I know it might seem weird to you because you're a prince or whatever, but in my world, we have to buy things with money and certain items cost more than others. Everything in that store," I pointed to the LV sign, "cost a lot more than I can pay for."

He laughed and I was confused, "Why are you laughing?"

"I know you Midguardians are not as a high status as us gods, but I took matters into my own hands." He took his hand out of his pocket, and a wristlet appear through a green mist. My eyed widened as I snatched it from his clutches, "DID YOU STEAL THIS?" I whisper shouted. His only response was a smirk, which solidified my question. "Oh my god," I breathed.

I turned and started walking towards the entrance. Loki jogged up next to me, "You could say thank you now." I stormed out of the store, looking right and left to anyone that might think I was doing something suspicious. No one stopped me.

Sitting on the bench outside of the train station, I looked at the wristlet & traced the LV. "It is nice, isn't it?" Loki said. "Did you steal this for me?" I asked.

"Yes," he said without hesitation. "But not without grabbing a better bag for myself." He pulled out a black and dark gray satchel from behind his back. I sighed and put my head in my hands, "You don't really know how to not be good," I said while looked at the bag and at his face. "When you're the god of mischief, it can be a challenge," Loki responded.

I played with the bag, unsure of what to say. "Thank you. For the bag." I saw his shoulders rise in triumph. I then turned to him with a new surge of confidence and pointed at him, "You better not do that again though."

"I wish I can promise I will not."
