Y/N POV

The days rolled by as Wednesday approached and you drove to the location given by Dr. Banner. You brought some supplies from your bag into the facility. It was surprisingly empty and small. There was a large table that held lots of components scattered across it and more were in the floating cabinetry. There was also a see-through large person-sized cylinder object off to the side and rolling chairs flittered around the room.

The only other person in the room was the man himself, sitting close to the edge and hunched over a small vile. I looked left and right, unsure if I should do anything. I coughed a bit and got no reaction. As I strolled over, I noticed he had music in his ears.

"Dr. Banner -" I said while placing my hand on his shoulder. He jumped out of his seat, the earbuds falling out of his ears; it almost looked like he was a bit green. I gasped as I rushed to help him off the ground. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry Dr. Banner. I didn't know your music was -" He got up and turned to me with a genuine smile on his face, "Call me Bruce."

"I like to listen to classical music while working on serums. The serums," he showed me the vile, "help bring my emotions in check and keep the other guy at bay." Bruce ushered me over to what he was working on. "I was only doing simple chemistry solutions to make a calming serum for myself that I can put in my coffee. I've been doing this for a bit and it has eased the other voice inside my head."

I cocked my head in confusion, "Other voice?" He swirled over whatever was left in the vile into a larger graduated cylinder. He brought over a chair for me to sit. "Look, if you don't want to continue working with me, that's totally fine. But when dealing with something as tedious as the Hulk, you need to know everything about him."

"The real question is why wouldn't I want to work with you?" I laughed. His stern look didn't change, "Because other people in my life have gotten hurt because of him." I stopped my humorous attitude, "Let it all out then. Tell me everything."

He did just so, which took a couple of days due to the charts and formulas he brought out to justify his findings. Some of which I knew about, others that haven't left this lab. "I usually don't even let other people into this lab. It's my personal one that I've had for a while," he stated. "Was it really just Tony that made you hire me?" I questioned.

"He is a good friend. Egotistical, don't get me wrong, but really understood where I was coming from. He saw that I needed help after what happened in Wakanda as well as being the Hulk for two years straight. That really messed me up, because when I'm him, it's like I only have control over one emotion: rage. That's usually all internal and whatever is happening to my body, he has control over. And I have no recollection of what happened for those two years when I was in space."

"This kind of sounds similar to D.I.D, in the sense of you not remembering your actions when you are the Hulk," I stated. He nodded his head in response, "That is something I also pondered, but why is it only anger that it's triggered with? Most D.I.D patients have a string of previous trauma, but the Hulk is triggered from pure rage, not from anything from my past."

I thought for a bit before saying some of my thoughts, "I know that you say 'him' every time you talk about the Hulk, but maybe that could be where you're root of the problem is. The Hulk is apart of you, and the way you talk about him as if he isn't a part of you. Maybe it's you taking on this other form."

He away from me, probably hurt at what I said. Shit, I did it again, I thought. "Not that the Hulk isn't cool as fuck." I said backtracking. "It's just that he's triggered by emotions and thoughts." Bruce nodded as he turned back to the supply cabinet.

Thankfully, my comment did not affect the way he viewed me because we went back to business as usual. Our main goal was to try to bring the Hulk out due to his disappearance. Him and I spent many weeks mixing chemicals trying to bring the Hulk to the surface. Nothing provoked the green gentleman from appearing, that was until Bruce had an idea.
