"It's a shame I didn't get to see you this morning," Jack says lowering himself to my height, "How was your drive?"
I close the space between us quickly, he straightens his back making me rise on the tip of my feet. I pull away first lowering back to my position.
"Quiet," I tease.
He smiles, "What are you craving?"
We walk hand in hand to his car parked on the curve. I'm surprised his car is still running considering he never took it back to donnie's for another tune up.
He begins to open the passengers door for me, "We can get bagels from that coffee shop."
I glare up to him, "We're never going back to that coffee shop."
He chuckles as I slide into the low rider and he quickly makes way across the front of the car. I proceed to put my seatbelt on just as he's entering already bringing the car to life.
"So what else?"
I shrug, "I'm not really hungry for anything."
He begins to pull away from the schools parking lot taking a right onto the main road, "Are you down for some ice cream?"
I look over to him, "We're not driving all the way across town for ice cream Jack."
"We haven't been in so long though," He defends, his right hand leaves the steering wheel and reaches across to touch my left thigh, "I'll have you back before the day ends."
"I can't," I shoot down, "I can't skip class, it's not like me. My teachers will immediately send out an AWOL."
That and the fact that i'm not even supposed to be within 100 feet of him on a weekday. I don't tell him that though and i'm not sure when I could ever squeeze it into a normal conversation.
He nods his head understanding, "You just wanna drive around?"
I look over to him with a light smile, "I'm sorry i'm boring."
"You're at least going to have some fun on my birthday right?"
I raise an eyebrow, "You're birthday?"
He glances over to me nodding his head slowly, "You got something planned for me?"
I know it's harsh for me to say it slipped my mind, especially since he brought it up. However Jacks birthday wasn't something I planned for because of how much other shit going on.
"Of course," I lie with a shrug of my shoulders, he rolls his eyes, "Party at the Peak?"
"At the peak?"
I nod my head, "Trust me, I've already written it down."
"You're the worst liar."
My smiles gives me away before I can say anything and Jack laughs along with me, "Okay so what do you want to do?"
"No, party at the peak sounds fun," He says, "Especially in september."
I roll my eyes,"It's not that cold out."
"and who do you know in order to throw said party?"
I shrug, "You know people..."
"So you want me to invite people to the party my girlfriend is throwing me?"
"Is that's so peculiar?"
"It sounds like I should just throw the party myself."
"Well," I shrug, "You know who my friends are and I don't think they'd go to your backyard party in some random woods. So it has to be your friends."
