Haruno Sakura POV
I slowly opened my eyes but closed them back right away because of the bright light.
"Because of the pain medication, she probably didn't realize how serious her wounds were. Though, I don't know why she would've passed out. I'm guessing it's from the shock but we might have to run a few tests on her later, just in case." I heard someone say before walking out of the room. I don't think anyone noticed that I woke up.
"Shit... that was the worst thing I could've done. Why the hell did I think scaring her would be a good idea?" Himari groaned, she sounded a bit muffled though. I opened my eyes again, this time my eyes adjusted to the light and found her right next to me with her face in her hands.
"I don't know..." I said, "it would've been pretty funny if I wasn't in so much pain."
She jumped at the sound of my voice, "You're awake! I'm so sorry about what happened!"
"It's fine, can I get some water?"
"Yeah, take this." She handed me one of the water bottles on my bedside table. I took it and drank half of it, I didn't realize I was so thirsty. "Did everyone leave?"
"Yeah, they left an hour after you passed out. Did you eat anything earlier?"
"No, I'm starving," I answered. "Do you want me to get you anything? I can get it from the cafeteria downstairs or a nearby restaurant," she said, already getting up with her keys.
"If it's not too much trouble, can you get me and sandwich and soup from a cafe down the street?" I replied.
"Okay, I can do that. Once I come back, we can talk about what the doctor meant before about me being your guardian."
One Hour Later
"I've never had anything so good!" I exclaimed as I finished my last bite. Himari chuckled, "I think even trash could taste good after sleeping for five days." I laughed with her, "You're probably right."
"Now that you're done, I can explain your situation. You remember when I helped you a couple of years ago?" I nodded, "Well, this may sound a bit weird but when I first saw you I felt this strong feeling to protect you and help you. That's why I approached you in the first place. Anyways, after I took you home and found a small, empty apartment I decided to look into you. When I found out that you were an orphan I instantly thought to adopt you. A few days later, I finally had the free time to visit your apartment and talk to you but you had moved out. I looked for you for a few months but came up with nothing until last week, at the junk car lot."
It took me a few seconds to process everything she said, "You wanted to adopt... me?" I asked with tears in my eyes. After years in the orphanage and people skipping over me like I was nothing, all it took was one night for her to decide that?
"Yeah, and I still want to but because I couldn't get your input while you were in a coma, I decided that for now, I'm just your foster parent," she smiled, "Once you leave this hospital, I'll be taking you to stay with me at my apartment. Don't worry about your stuff, these two nice kids, I think their names were Nahoya and Souya, moved all your things and helped Aiko set up your room."
I couldn't hold in the tears any longer and looked away from her so she wouldn't see me crying, "Thank you... you don't know how much this means to me."
A/N: Super short chapter cause Idk how to write lol. How would you guys feel if I did a two-week time skip or something like that? Cause after writing these last few chapters, I kinda just wanna get back to action and I'm SO excited to write the Christmas Showdown arc.
Also, thank you for 1k views :)
