Third Person POV
Cops and paramedics made it to the site of the fight a few minutes after Sakura passed out. When they found her...
"SHE HAS NO PULSE!"
"START CPR AND GET THE DEFIBRILLATOR!"
"BE CAREFUL! THERE IS A DEEP STAB WOUND IN HER STOMACH!"
Paramedics swarmed the pink-haired girl and started to do chest compressions, "WHERE IS IT?! WE DON'T HAVE MUCH TIME!"
As Sakura was getting treated, cops were searching the area. They were looking for anybody nearby who might be involved, though there was one cop who stayed back.
She was staring at the girl in shock. Himari recognized her as the girl at the bike shop robbery, one of the victims. She spent weeks looking for Sakura after finding out that she was an orphan living on her own at only 13-years-old, she wanted to adopt her.
Even though she knew Sakura for only a few minutes, after seeing how broken she was that night, Himari felt the need to protect her and care for her.
Once she finally had the time to go and visit Sakura, Himari visited the apartment she went to that night and found out that the girl moved. She didn't have the authority to look for a minor's address so she never saw her again.
Well, until today.
"Officer Fujimura! Now isn't the time to be standing around! Go search the area!" the chief, Daichi, yelled at her.
Himari snapped out of it and followed their directions.
"CLEAR!"
An electric shock shot through Sakura's body... she still had no pulse.
"START CPR!! WE'LL SHOCK HER AGAIN!!"
The paramedics started CPR again, they had around two minutes before she'd be at risk of permanent brain damage, from the lack of oxygen.
"CLEAR!"
Again, the electric shock shot through her body... there was a pulse.
"WE HAVE A FAINT PULSE, CONTINUE CPR!"
"SOMEBODY TELL THE HOSPITAL TO PREPARE FOR SURGERY!"
As they continued CPR, some paramedics went to get the gurney. One of them was a medic in training, Itsuki. He turned to look at the girl, there was a massive puddle of blood surrounding her, "Touma, isn't that a bit too much blood? Even if it's a stab wound she shouldn't be bleeding that much..." he said to his superior.
Touma was about to yell at the boy to be quiet when he looked at the girl and realized he was right.
He passed the gurney to another paramedic nearby and ran to Sakura, "Have you guys checked for any other injuries?!"
One of the people tending to Sakura looked up at Touma with a confused and aggravated expression, "Of course! We checked as best as we could without moving her too much in case of a spinal injury! We know how to do our job! Why don't you stop worrying and go get the gurney!"
"Then why is she bleeding so much!? It's only a stomach wound, she shouldn't be losing this much blood!" Touma yelled back.
As they were yelling, the team with the gurney arrived, "This isn't the time to argue! Touma, count us down!" Itsuki said.
"ON 3, CAREFULLY PICK HER UP!" Touma ordered.
"3"
"2"
"1"
When they picked her up, Itsuki quickly looked at her back, checking if there was anything wrong.
"SHE HAS ANOTHER STAB WOUND!" he yelled, stressed, "IT'S ON HER BACK! THAT'S WHY WE DIDN'T SEE IT EARLIER!! WE NEED MORE GAUZE!"
'Shit, this is way worse than we originally thought,' Touma thought.
They quickly moved her into the ambulance and left, they didn't have as much time as they originally thought.
"CONTACT THE HOSPITAL AND TELL THEM IT'S WORSE THAN WE THOUGHT!" he yelled while dressing her wound.
BEEEEEEEEEEEP
"She's in cardiac arrest! Start CPR again!
A/N: What do you guys think of Sakura finally having a parental figure? After writing chapter 19, I wanted to keep Himari in the story somehow... So I decided to do this!
Also, did anyone notice a certain volley player in this chapter? :)
