"But father-"
"Enough. You will do as told." He spits at me while slamming the door.
Groaning, I put my hands on my face. My dwelling was cut short by Lorraine knocking on the door. "Come in, Lorraine. Haven't I told you it isn't necessary to knock unless it is father?" The door slowly opens with a flushed Lorraine behind it.
"Yes Ms. Francio-" I put my hand up in annoyance. "Marietta. Call me Marietta." Her eyes widen and she scrambles to apologize. I'm not too fond of having my time wasted anymore than it has to be. "Did you need something?" Her eyes flicker down to the red carpet in my room. I raise my eyebrow waiting for a response. "Your father has commanded me to watch you for the evening." I roll my eyes in amusement, "The reason being?" She gives me a small smile, "He doesn't want you to run away again."
I nod my head, gesturing that she may leave now. Dramatically collapsing back on my bed, I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. Everything has been sucking lately. Don't get me wrong, living in my fathers mansion is nice. I get what I want when I want. It's all laid out for me. But I don't want that. I want a challenge. I want to be a normal girl with boy struggles and hangovers again.
Checking the time, I decide I'll nap this all off. I'll think of how to leave later.
