The atmosphere in the teacher's lounge was filled with confusion as two things boggled the group's mind. One, Evelyn came often, not to mention stay, in the lounge for some time now. And two, why is she with Eliza?
Devon, CC, and Brandon were all huddled up in a corner eyeing the two.
"Hello, there my duckli-"
"Shhh" Dr. Lane was cut off with the three placing their index fingers over their lips to keep her quiet. Dr. Lane and Dr. Simpson then stepped closer and asked them in a hushed voice, "What's going on?"
CC then pointed to Eliza and Evelyn who were sitting in the kitchen together doing some paper works.
"What's going on? I don't recall the law and art department having a project together or whatever it is their doing." Dr. Lane put a finger over her chin to think.
The group then squinted their eyes and leaned a bit closer. The scene before her eyes caused Dr. Simpson to smile and chuckle.
"What is it?" Dr. Lane asked raising an eyebrow.
"Nothing," she replied shifting back to a serious face.
"Oh come on Lils, tell me or I'll die." Dr. Lane dramatically held her heart.
"Fine. You're overreacting you know that?" Dr. Simpson rolled her eyes.
"How else would I let you spill the tea?" The redhead gave her a toothy grin and wiggled her eyebrows.
Dr. Simpson then rolled her eyes and called them to sit on the couch. After everybody had settled she told them her observations from the start. They were so intrigued and amazed by Dr. Simpson's observations that they were all leaning forward and did not notice the two standing behind them.
"What are you guys doing?" Eliza asked which startled all of them.
"Nothing?" Brandon replied smiling. This earned him a death stare from Evelyn that caused him to spit it out. "We were all wondering why you two are always together and we think Dr. Simpson just confirmed it to us. But then again, we really wanted to ask, are you two together?"
They all looked at Eliza and Evelyn. Eliza had never really thought about it and what's happening right now is making her uncomfortable. There was so much pressure building in the atmosphere that she was about to hyperventilate but then Evelyn stepped forward simply saying, "I thought you said Dr. Simpson already confirmed that?" and escorted Eliza and herself out the door.
Everybody in the lounge was speechless and CC had a worried look on her face. She chased after the two but was met with a bell and students started crowding the hall.
"Are you alright?" Evelyn asked as they walked towards her office.
"Y-yes, I am." Eliza stuttered.
"I don't like liars." The older woman's voice was in a warning tone.
"Sorry. It's just that. This."
"What about it?"
"Are we?"
"That depends. Do you want to be?"
Eliza stopped in her tracks. Though turning red she had a glint in her eyes which made Evelyn's facial expression soften. At this point, Evelyn was already holding the door open to her office.
"Eliza?"
"Yes," Eliza replied in a whisper.
"What?" she asked confused.
"Yes! I mean if that's okay with you of course." She was so flustered at this point that she didn't know what to say so she just lowered her head.
