☆Y/N POV☆
I will never forget the night I met Owen Power.
It was ten-thirty at night, and I was still at a party with my friends who dragged me here forcefully. I'm usually not a party person, but tonight I thought I would have fun and forget about all of my worries.
And no, this isn't some frat party. This was a party a mutual friend was throwing a little way off-campus. He posted it all over his social media, and now it's like this over-the-top party with lots of under and of-age drinking. I happened to be a part of the under-age category since I'm only a sophomore in university. Still, I don't plan on getting drunk. I just wanted to have a couple of drinks to add some alcoholic spice to my night.
My friends and I stood in a corner, engaged in a debate about whether the music they were playing was good or not. But unfortunately, there wasn't enough music to casually dance to.
"Man, I'm going to tell the DJ to play Daft Punk or something," my friend said, walking away from our group and strolling towards the DJ. We observed our friend talk to the DJ, waving his arms around as he spoke. The DJ nodded, seeming to understand what my friend was saying. Our friend pats the DJ on the back before walking back to us.
"He's going to play some more songs you can like hella vibe to," he said, smoking from the blunt that was in between his fingers.
Around the World by Daft Punk began playing, and people started dancing in the middle of the room. I watched all of my friends disappear into the crowd, but I stood back and watched them from afar, a smile toying on my face. I bopped my head to the music but didn't have the courage, or enough booze in my system, to go into the crowd.
I watched my best friend throw her arms into the air and twirl around, bopping her head and dancing along to the music. She's insane, but I love her for that. She made eye contact with me, scoffed playfully with a smirk, and signaled for me to come to join her on the dance floor. I rolled my eyes playfully and walked into the crowd with a smile. I danced along with her, both laughing and having a good time.
Whatever my friend told the DJ did everyone a huge favor because their playlist is doing this party justice. The DJ played a lot of 90s and 00s club and darkwave electronic music but added a few modern-day songs with the same rhythms.
Soon enough, I had a Smirnoff Ice in my hand and was somehow in the middle of the crowd of people dancing. I was still with my friends, but we were now mixed in with many people. My friends were close but were all dancing with other people, leaving me alone, not that I minded. I was in my own world, feeling the music run through my body as it entered my ears. I backed up slightly and accidentally bumped into a body, making me spill a small amount of my drink on top of my hand.
"I'm sorry," I yelled over the music, turning around to apologize to the person I had accidentally hit. But when I looked behind me, a giant was looking down at me with a smile on his face. Thankfully, I wasn't too short myself, but I was still a few inches shorter than him.
