Y/N POV

It's been the second time my heart has been crushed by the same asshole that I constantly go back to. So why do I go back to them? I don't even know the answer to that question.

I sat on my bed in my room. I moved to Michigan to be with my childhood best friend, Case. Case is a year older than me. But, despite the age difference, we're inseparable.

I lay here in my bed, staring at my ceiling, wondering why my heart continues to beat for my ex. They cheated on me with my best friend... well, make that ex-best friend.

"Hey, Y/N/N, do you know where-" Case stopped talking, looking at me with a sad look. "Hey, what's wrong?"

Case climbed into my bed, giving me a hug. I cried into Case's chest even harder than I was crying before.

"He... I..." I stuttered while sobbing.

"Shh, just tell me when you're ready," Case whispers.

We sat there for ten minutes. My cries were heard throughout my room.

"Why don't we go out?" Case suggested.

"No."

Case rolled his eyes, not taking no for an answer. Instead, he pulls my arm, literally dragging me out of bed.

"Case! Let me go!" I said in protest, kicking my legs up trying to knock him down.

"Not until you say yes!" he exclaims, dragging me around the house.

"Okay, fine! I surrender!" I yell out, making Case finally let go. I stand up immediately. I then reach out and slap the back of Case's head, running off to my room, hoping he doesn't kill me.

"I'm going to kill you!" Case yells, stomping after me. I yelp when I feel his arms around my waist. Then, I felt him lift me up and throw me onto his shoulder.

"Case!" I exclaimed, but I didn't try to wiggle my way off of him because I knew he was thirty times stronger than I was. He set me down when we got to my room.

"Start getting ready because we're leaving in thirty. So, hurry up."

I stuck my tongue out, beginning to get ready. I put some baggy jeans on, a cute baby-tee with a cardigan, and some white converse. I ran downstairs, catching Case sitting on the couch with his phone in his hands.

He looked up at me and sighed in relief.

"Finally!" he exclaimed. I smile and giggle, slapping his arm. We walked out the front door and got into his car.

"Where are we going?" I ask, extending the last syllable.

"That's for me to-"

"Know and for you to find out," I interrupted. Case just laughs in response.

After about ten minutes of driving around, we finally parked. Finally, I get a view of an ice cream shop.

"I always came here when I missed you or when I missed home," Case said with a smile.

I smiled as we both walked in, beginning to order our ice cream. I got chocolate, and Case got vanilla.

"Do you feel better than before?" Case asked curiously. I smiled and nodded.

"Yeah, way better."

"What even happened?" Case asked.

I decided to tell him while I wasn't crying. I began my story by saying, "So, I was dating this person back home, and they cheated on me again. They made it seem like it was my fault, and they always made me feel like complete shit."

Case looked furious after I finished telling him what happened.

"I'm going to kill him."

"Case," I began, putting my hand on his, "it's okay. I don't care anymore."

Case relaxes and nods.

"Let's just continue our night and not even think about that idiot."

"I agree with you," I said with a smile. We got up and left the ice cream shop, beginning our adventure.
