Like a Falling Leaf [Kazuha x fem!reader]

Next day

Kazuha's POV~

When i woke up it was already morning. Sunny as ever. I took the road back to Liyue Harbor thinking to meet up with Y/n again. Almost reaching the city i took a moment for listening to the wind, the smell it carried... I stopped for a second in confusion. Wasn't she in the Harbor? No, she must be only barely out of it.

I kept walking in the way the wind led me. Slowly reaching a tree near the place i found Y/n yesterday. She sat under the tree, peacfully looking at the leaves.

Though this time she noticed me. Y/n stood up and rushed to me. She had a smile on her face and streching out her arms she looked me with the you're-gonna-hug-me-right?-face. Once i opened my arms for her to know i have nothing against hugging, she hugged me tightly. I gently hugged Y/n back. When she let go she greeted me with a simple: "Hey, Kazuha!"

"Hey, Y/n. Long time no seen, no?"

"Yeah, if a night is long for you."

"Just kidding. What are you up to?"

"Nothing, really. I was waiting for you," she brushed it off.

"Oh~" i said teasingly.

"Don't you look at me like that! I was just hoping we could do something together, but since my head is emptier than a desert, i thought that i'd let you decide what to do."

"Hmm... If you ask me, then i myself would just go on a walk in the nearby land... Maybe we can even find some treasure?" I added so that maybe she's more interested if i mention the possibility of finding treasure.

"You didn't necessarily need to bring the treasure up, i would have come anyway, but since you did... It counts as a bonus. Then... i'll gladly accept your offer to go on a walk with you." She was mocking me, was she not? Oh, but does it even matter?

Me and Y/n started walking towards the Liyue Harbor's gates. We walked in comfortable silence for some time until she asked me:
"Kazuha, if i make a really bitter tea and put in a lot of sugar and then let it get very cold... Is it still tea or has it became juice?"

"...what?"

"I'll repeat: if i make a really bitter tea and put in a lot o-"

"No, no, i heard what you said but... How did you even get that idea?"

"Mom asked if i wanted any tea, but that day was really hot and i didn't want to drink something that was warm as well. But i wanted that tea because it was a berry tea, my favourite, so i asked if she could make me a cold tea? She thought it was weird to make a cold tea and said that i could just drink juice then. That's when i realised that you make tea and juice basicly with the same ingredients!"

I can't believe that some people can think about such unimportant matters.

"So what do you think, Kazuha?"

What do i think... Well she's right, they are basicly made from the same ingredients... Though they are not the same thing...

"I think that you're right, but if it's tea, the berries are dried and then the water is flavored with it, but juice is mostly only from the juice that fresh berries have, sometimes diluted with water."

"...hmm, okay then. Though they are still similar."

"...Ka...zuHA!"

"Huh?"

"Kazu...HA!"

I- what is she doing?

"...Ka... ZUha!"

We were walking down the path we found not long ago. Until all of a sudden she started pronouncing my name in all possible ways.

"KA!zuha... KazUHA... AHUZAK!"

What.

"You've got such a funny name. Beautiful, but funny."

"What's so funny about my name?"

"Oh, just the face you make while you're totally not understanding the point of pronouncing it"

"Hm? So it has a deeper meaning now?"

"Nope, it's just fun to mess with you" ah, that smug, smug, smile.

"Aye... Kaedehara? It's a hilichurl camp..." she pointed towards a nearby camp on a hill. I hummed in response.

"Oh, and Kazu, i think i forgot to mention it but i don't have a vision and never really learned how to fight, so... you're alone in this..." I can't really blame her but i just wish she told me this before we were spotted by the hilichurls. Because i'm fine, but to keep Y/n from getting hurt... But now i didn't really have a choice other than just try.

"Just, uh... Wait here, try to not get yourself killed." I told her before running off to the hilichurl that had a burning piece of wood in hand.

Y/n's POV~

And there he goes. I sat down onto the ground. I felt the fresh grass beneath me. It smelled nice.

I looked back at where Kazuha went and saw him... Flying? No, not flying, but he plunged down from air where he seemed to weight as much as a feather. Must be his anemo vision... Oh, archons, how i wish i had a vision.

After some time, he returned and told me:
"I did manage to get rid of the hilichurls... But there was no treasure, sorry."

"Don't be sorry, it's not your fault." I reassured him. He gave me a small smile and we kept walking in a comfortable silence.

"... You're going back to the Crux today evening, right?" I remembered the sad part.

"Right."

"I wish i could come with you..."

"Hmm? Why so?"

"Would be much more fun, besides, i have only been to Mondstadt and here, Liyue."

Kazuha nodded when he got the point.

"Hey, maybe next time you'll come back we could go together! I mean i have no idea where you'll dissapear with the Crux but who cares? We should just go together!" I cheered up at the thought. Seemed like a good plan to me. I'll turn 18 soon too, so i can do anything i want without other's permission.

"Maybe... But for now i cannot promise you anything, i'm not the captain after all."

"Bye, Kaedehara! See you soon," i hugged him tightly and waved goodbye as he went back to the Crux. I wonder when will he come back thought...

"Bye, Y/n, 'till we meet again!"

I waved and watched as the ship sailed away.

Yeah, so... I guess ya'll happened to notice how long time i haven't updated *awkward cough*

yeah, uh that's cuz your dear little Author had to think when should she stop building up the realationship and moving on to the real story...

...And a little bit cuz i had no motivation.

Anyways, i think you all can see that we are moving on to the plot now and stop with the iDle cHiT-chAt (in Diluc's voice of course)
