So, uh....hi? I kinda forgot this existed lol 😅
So I had a chair test yesterday. We find out results tomorrow, and I'm thinking I probably got first or second chair. We're going to start getting copies of UIL Concert music soon as well. We also have to start practicing sight reading things. It's a good thing that I'm pretty good at sight reading then ig lol
There's a solo and ensemble competition on February 5th, but I'm not able to go because I have a church thing :/
And our theater UIL contest is in the beginning of March. My dad just told me about a prior commitment that I can't miss and it conflicts with the contest so I won't be able to go....I don't quite know how to tell my director though because I don't like to disappoint people.
Back to band though, our concert music is pretty easy (so far). We have a lot of 8th graders, so it makes it hard to play actually challenging music (like they'll play 8th notes in music as if they were quarter notes like it's soooooo bad). In jazz band we're doing nothing so we've decided to go through all the old music in the "music library" which is just part of the director's office. Our old director had it so trashed you couldn't even walk inside, but now everything's a lot cleaner and it makes me happy :)
I got a new laptop, a box set of everything Star Wars has put on DVD up until 2020, and an Ocarina among other things for Christmas....how has everyone else been doing?
