CHAPTER WARNINGS- Kissing and Waking up your sleeping friend in the middle of the night.
"I'm dying," was the first thing Remus said when he woke up, with only a few of the memories from last night present in his brain.
Sirius had the audacity to laugh and grin while he helped Remus out of the hospital bed. There was an undeniable ache in Remus' head and all he needed was to go to the library with Sirius, so that's what he did.
"Must we go to the library on our day off?" Sirius sighed dramatically, dragging his feet across the floor to the huge Hogwarts library.
"Can you be serious for 5 minutes?" Remus said, exasperated.
"My record is 4, but I think I can do it,"
Remus pushed open the door of the library and Sirius followed him to whatever sections Remus would go to. They were just about to walk into the transfiguration section before Remus spotted someone, took a 180, grabbed Sirius' arm and marched the two of them away from that section as they both crouched and hid in the arithmancy section.
"What happened?" Sirius inquired suspiciously.
"Umm, there's this... girl and-"
"And you like her?" Sirius said impulsively, more aggressive than he had planned. He'd spotted the girl too and of course, she just had to look amazing. She had long brunette hair, doe eyes and pretty lips. She was wearing ravenclaw robes so she was probably really smart, at the end of the day, she seemed to be exactly the kind of girl Remus would like.
"No, no, I don't, that's the point," Sirius calmed down a bit, "She keeps trying to ask me out and I don't wanna say 'no', it's rude," Remus said, peeking his head out checking for her presence and Sirius magically felt a lot better.
"You know you can say 'no' moony, it isn't rude, she'd understand,"
"I'm scared, besides she's gone, come on let's go, I need a book," he said after a final glance, grabbing Sirius' arm.
Suffice to say, Sirius was oddly satisfied with the fact Remus didn't like that girl, why? He may never find out and currently, he wasn't willing to. Remus finally settled on the charms section and started looking for books. Talking to Remus was so refreshing for Sirius, he wasn't always so chaotic and up to mischief like James, he wasn't clueless like Peter. He was calm, and that resulted in Sirius being calm. Maybe it was how Remus always made sure his bookmark was in the right place and his handwriting was neat, cursive and readable, or maybe, it was because over the years, Sirius had fallen in love how Remus always smelt like tea and books. It was intoxicating and soothing.
Moony carefully scanned the shelf and when he had found what he was looking for, he leaned against the sturdy shelf and opened the book. By the way Remus' eyes were shifting Sirius could tell he had already begun reading. Sirius took this as an opportunity to start on some reading too.
Remus felt conflicted. He felt guilty for always making Sirius come with him after the full moon while Sirius could be doing other so much more fun things. On the other hand, he felt secretly pleased Sirius always tagged along because he felt much safer with him. Remus blocked his thoughts since they were intrusive when he was trying to read. Remus felt Sirius step a lot closer to him and the intrusive thoughts came rushing back.
Since Remus was a bit shorter than Sirius he could still see the book he wanted to read, so Sirius stepped forward and it was only when his eyes landed on the book he needed that he realized moony was no longer reading. Sirius' arm was placed on the left side of Remus' head and his eyes were concentrating on Remus'. The tension between them was thick and while Sirius hated to admit it to himself, he may have a little crush on his best friend.
He was completely lost in Moony's eyes, he could see every colour. Strokes of light brown adorned with lighter tinges of grey.
"It's a lovely day today, is it not?" Remus said obviously flustered, and that was the breaking point.
Sirius gently held Remus' cheek and inched forward, their lips brushing against each other. Remus didn't say anything, just breathed softly. He wanted Sirius to kiss him so bad, to his luck, Padfoot took the silence as a yes pulling him into a deep kiss.
It was everything Sirius had imagined all at once, the feeling was as if his birthday, christmas and spring all landed on the same day. Remus' lips tasted of herbal tea, something Sirius used to have a strong dislike for, but not anymore.
Remus was shocked but happily returned the favor, he knew what was happening but at the same time, he knew nothing. The world was quiet and all that mattered was Sirius' lips on his and his hands around Sirius' waist. Remus' stomach was in knots and while the moment lasted not longer than ten seconds, he could remember every dip and feature of Sirius' face.
Remus knew that the only thing left to do was kiss Sirius again, sweep him off his feet and take him to a date, right? Yes, right, but he hadn't thought much into this so he ran. He ran away from the library leaving Sirius frozen in the charms aisle.

"James get the frick frack up this instant," Sirius said, barging into their dorm, delighted Remus wasn't on his usual spot reading. James didn't budge so Sirius pulled off his covers.
"Bloody hell mate! I'm sleeping! Can't you see?!"
"Yes I can you dummy, but as my best friend it's your obligation to wake up when I need help,"
"Alright, we're going to go over that later-"
"I kissed Moony,"
