The patter of feet against the concrete ground sounded around the market.

Her breathe was heavy as she sprinted around the corner, a big smile on her face.

She was 15 now, living in Encanto since the age of 6 when her and her familia were driven out of their home.

Her abuelo, the first one to get a gift in her family, had died the day before the whole situation, and in doing so, left the alveraz family with nothing.

Everybody loved her abuelo. He was kind, sweet, and just an amazing person in general.

Even after the loss of his wife during her third child birth when Ana was born, he never turned away from the ones he loved. Never pushed them away, and he prided himself on it.

Everyone quite despised the family, not liking how different they were. Hating on everyone that so much as associated with the alveraz's. Even if you weren't of alveraz blood, if your seen talking with them you'd be treated the same as the ones that were born into such a family.

Only ever putting up with them because of Abuelo alveraz.

The one they all loved.

Were treated like sewer rats.

That's why encanto was such an amazing change for the family.

Not to mention the other entire magical family that lived on the side of the town, their house a lot bigger then anyone else's- but that's probably because it's magical?

"Y/n! Want some embutido? They're freshly smooooked~?"

"Ah-! No thanks Andres- maybe another time! Bye!"

The older man chuckled and shook his head. "Adolescentes, always got somewhere to be these days." he said.

"Ay! Y/n, how are you and your familia? We should really catch up sometime-"

"Si señorita Gabriella, I agree," said the young girl as she sprinted past, waving at the older woman as she hung up her washing.

Y/n sprinted through the market, saying hello to a few passer by's who recognised her, all while not slowing down.

She ran up the cobbled path, her shoes padding against the ground as she finally made it up to where she was headed.

The doors go casita opened themselves for her, "thanks casita!" She said still running, only to have to swerve as to not hit pepa. 

"Sorry señorita Pepa-!" The girl apologised as she panted.

"Y/n? Is that you?"

Pepa turned around toward jullietta's voice and gave her an 'are you serious' look.

"Who else would it be bursting in at this time of the morning?" Pepa laughed.

Y/n pursed her lips. And sunk her head into her shoulders.

Pepa laughed and jullietta gave her a light hearted look.

"Here, I doubt you've eaten today?" Julietta handed the girl and arepa and smiled.
