Kathy's POV
"Gosh Caleb, why do you have to be so annoying!!" I shouted. "Well it's not my fault you stink at math!" He said. "Well you didn't have tellmom immediately! Now I have to lose 3 hours of my whole Saturday!" I said to him. Well it is technically it is my fault but sadly I don't want to talk about it anymore. By the way my is Katherine Harison ( my friend call me Kathy) and I have an older brother named Mark Caleb, our dad died when I was five, he got stuck in the fire trying to save me leaving mom doing all the work for us, eventually she's gone almost everyday and comes back home during Sunday morning. She forced me to go to tutoring because I failed my math tests 2 in a row. "What day is it today?" I asked Caleb. "It's May 10 Sunday, why." he answered. "Nothing" I said back while he gave me a confused look. I decided to go to the park so I took a quick shower, I wore a navy blue shorts and a white tank top and my favorite black low cut converse. I curled the ends of my hair cause I think it looks cute on me and put on light make. "Hey Caleb?" I asked. "Yeah?" He also asked. "Where's mom? I didn't see her since I woke up" I said. " She said she was going to meet a friend" he answered. " When she gets back and asks where I went, tell her I'm at the park with Jenny!" I shouted. I immediately shut the door before he could answer back. The park was only a few blocks away from our house so I didn't get to tired from all the walking. I finally found an empty bench and texting Jenny telling here where she was when I found something shining from the tree that was right next to were I was sitting on. Out of my curiosity I picked it up and saw that it was a silver ring with a half golden heart on it. Someone might have just dropped it, so I put it inside my shoulder bag thinking someone might come back and look for it.
~~~~~~~~
30 minutes passed and still no sight of Jenny so I pulled out my head phones and my iPod not caring to what I'm listening to when all of a suddenly a blonde haired boy who looked like my age sat beside me trying to catch his breath. I turned of my head phones when I was receiving a call from Jenny.
"Hello?" She asked.
"Hey Jenny, where are you? I'm still waiting for you at the park you know" I said trying my best to not scold her.
"I'm so sorry Kathy, mom and dad had an urgent meeting at the office so they made me take care James, again I'm so sorry" she said.
"No, it's okay, I completely understand" I said still trying my best not to get angry.
"Thanks so much Kathy. I have to go, James is having another one of his tantrum attacks. Bye, love you" she said.
"Okay. Bye," I said back then hung up.
"What am I going to do now?" I whispered to my self. I looked to guy who was sitting next to me hoping that he was gone but sadly he was still there. I noticed he has some kind of metal on his lips that looks like a ring, I mean what kind I of person would want to were a ring on his lips. I didn't notice I was staring until I heard him laugh a little. "What's so funny?" I asked. "Oh nothing.." He said. "Really?" I said with a slight look of disbelief in my face. "Okay, fine. It's just that you've been staring at me for almost five minutes and the look on your face is priceless" he said and started laughing really hard. "God Kathy, why do you always have to so stupid" I said to myself and just buried my face on my hands. "I'm Luke by the way" he said which surprised me a little. I looked at him and said "my names Katherine, but call me Kathy instead". "Why? Don't you like your name?" He asked. "No, I happen to like my name, but it's just to long to pronounce" I answered. He nodded then I looked away making a few minutes of awkward silence. "I have to go now, it was nice meeting you" He asked breaking the awkward silence. "Well, it was also nice meeting you" I said. "Okay then, maybe we'll see each other again" he said. "Okay, bye" I said as he started walking. "Bye" he said and looked away. I have to admit he is kind of cute but his lip ring is annoying me a little bit. I went home, Caleb and mom are no where to be found so I just ate whatever's in the fridge, texted Jenny about Luke , then went to bed.
