Perfect Timing

Chapter 12

Kathy's POV
Luke texted me last night and told me that our date will be tonight and for me to wear something casual. I heard a knock on the door, it must be Liz. I rushed over to the door to open it, then came in Liz who was holding two math books. "Hey Liz" I said. "Hello dear. Did you study for the test already?" She asked. "Well actually..I did study a little bit". "That's good" she said while she was setting up her stuff. "Um...where's Luke?" I said, a bit shyly. "Oh he didn't want to come. He said he had something to do" she said, and I just nodded. Three hours past with me and Liz studying and chatting. "Well I think I should go now" she said, as I walked her to the door and we said our goodbyes. I walked to my room and flopped on the bed. I was texting Sammy and Jenny about my date later. It was only 12:00 noon, so I walked to the kitchen to grab something to eat and sat on the sofa to watch a movie, I completely don't know, but decided to watch it anyway. I heard my phone beeping which made me wake up. I think I just fell asleep at the whole movie again. I grabbed my phone to stop the alarm. What!? It was already 5:30pm. Luke is picking me up at 6:00pm. I rushed to the bathroom and took a really quick shower, then blow dried my hair and made it into loose curls. After pulling out all my clothes from my closet, I finally figured out the perfect outfit. I was wearing a black skater skirt that goes above my knees, my black converse, and a denim long sleeve button up shirt. Was doing my make up when I heard a knock on the door. "I'll get it" I heard someone shout from downstairs. Caleb. I was now rushing to do my make up but at the same time being careful not to mess it up. I grab my black shoulder bag and put in my phone, house keys, money, and other girl stuff. I walked downstairs and saw Luke and Caleb sitting at the sofa, and they were laughing. When Luke saw me, he stood up. "Hey Kathy" he said, looking at me from top to bottom "you look great" he added. "Thanks. I see you've already met my brother" I said, looking at Caleb. "How you never told me about Luke Kathy? " Asked Caleb. "Well you were almost always never here" I said. "Good point" he said. "Well then....have fun" said Caleb, as he walked to his room. "Let's go?" I nodded to Luke's question. We walked to his car then we drove off. "Where are you taking me?" I asked. "You'll see" was all he answered. The whole ride was silent and I fell asleep. I woke up to Luke shaking me and telling me to wake up. "Where are we?" I asked, sitting up as I looked out the window and saw we were at the beach. "Where here" he said, smiling at me. We walked on grass first, then I was about to walk on the sand but Luke stopped me. "You might wanna take off your shoes unless you wanna go home with sand in your feet" he said and laughed a little. I just smiled at him and took off my shoes. Now I wish I wore sandals instead. We walked on the beach holding our shoes. I saw a big, I mean really big, rock in the middle of the beach. To my surprise Luke grabbed my hand .I just looked at his blue eyes and smile. He smiled back, then we ran to the big rock until we were not in front of it. "Okay, now close your eyes" He said. "What?? Why?" I said, and he sighed then put his hands on my eyes so I can't see anything. "Luke!" I said. "Don't worry, I've got you" I heard him saw as he was walking me somewhere. "Okay now...1...2...3" and on three he took his hands of my eyes, and what I saw was so breathtaking I jaw almost dropped to the floor.
