I finally arrive back home, fully expecting the biggest chewing out of my life.

I explained this earlier, but I used to operate as a separate hero when I was younger. I discovered my magical capabilities very early on when I accidentally set my bed on fire, it's an embarrassing story that I don't want to tell but, I was about twelve, and really into SMT, so I based my hero persona off of that. This may seem like a contradiction to earlier when I said I didn't have super-powers but to me, I don't. I was born with these abilities and it seems like my family all have some small connection to the mystic arts, my Grandma learned a form of psychic lie-detection, my Uncle can teleport, and my Mom has telekinesis.

As I walk through the door, I can hear my parents talking in their bedroom, I can't tell what they're talking about but it sounds a little bit like they're arguing, I try to sneak by the door and into my room, by my dad opens the door, right as I pass by and clears his throat in a way that says 'we need to talk'.

My dad is always like this whenever I'm in the shit, he can't just tell me I'm in trouble he has to imply it, which somehow makes it worse.

"Hey Dad, what's up?" I try to ask innocently.
"It's about school, we got a call from your teacher about how you've been hanging out with this Parker kid and that your grades in science have been really improving." I tried not to give away how relieved I was. "Oh yeah. Peter's just a friend, he's insanely good with science, so I asked him if he could tutor me. I know that science isn't my strong suit, I'm pretty sure I'm breaking about three rules now." I say generating a ball of flame in my hand.
"Right. About that." His tone turned a bit harsher. "We'd heard that Spider-Man had a run in with a flame-slinging vigilante and your mother seems to think it was you. She wanted to call her mother to try and squeeze the truth out of you, but I promised her that you wouldn't be stupid enough to go back that ridiculous little character of yours and that if you had, you'd come clean and tell us without having to resort to that." He sighed deeply before continuing. "What I'm asking is, are you running around playing superhero again?"

It was a question that twisted my stomach, there is nothing I hate more than lying, but this is something I have to do, I can't just stop helping people, it would go against my moral code, not to mention that me and Spidey are finally starting to work together rather than just sharing a city. So, as much as I hated having to say it, I had to respond with, "Of course not. Like you said, I wouldn't be that stupid and besides, while all that was going on, I was with Peter, he was helping me figure out something I'd really been stuck on lately."

Little did I know just how close to the truth I was when I said that.

After an uncomfortably long silence, my dad let out a quick huff and said "Well, I'm glad that you're not putting yourself in danger." Before moving back into him room and leaving me to go to mine.

I contemplated what I was going to do next, when I thought that maybe I should go and see Peter, there's just something about talking to him that puts everything into perspective for me, plus I've been trying to work up the courage to ask him out but I'm constantly running through the absolute worst case outcomes in my head. I resolve myself to go and tell my parents that I'm going to grab a couple of things that I left at Peter's, and I hear a faint goodbye as I open the door.

during the swing over there, I keep running through the events of my fight with Mysterio, mainly focused on what could've possibly tripped us up like that. I decide to put it to the wayside while I call Peter. The phone ring for about three seconds before he picks up,

"Hey Hitochi, what's up?"

"Not much, I was just wondering if you wanted to meet up somewhere, I'm gonna be around your neighbourhood, so I thought I'd see if you were free."

"Yeah I'm sure I can squeeze some time in for you, I'm just giving May a hand moving some stuff into our attic, but I should be done by the time you get here. You do remember the way, right?"

"Of course I do, I'll be there ASAP. Talk to you in a bit, bye."

"Cool, see you soon." He says as he hangs up. for the next five minutes I just focus on getting there.
