I arrive at Peter's just as he's walking out the door, obviously I stopped swinging a bit further back, so I didn't draw any unwanted attention. "looks like I've got good timing." I say waving over to him, "Yep, you got here just in time." he replies with that little half-smirk of his, that I just can't get enough of. "So, what did you have in mind?" He askes me. "Well to start with, I want to go over to the field just a little ways away from here, and then I was thinking we just hang out and see where it takes us." Peter gave me an approving nod and replied, "Sure, after you." as we started walking. I ask "Did you see that new guy coming in and saving Spidey on the news earlier?" I saw a slight twinge in Peter's face when he replied. "Oh, you mean that Human Torch wannabe? I wouldn't say that they saved Spidey, he could've handled it on his own." I laughed a bit at that and replied. "Yeah, it was just Mysterio after all."

Peter and I continue walking until we reach an small field, out of the way from the rest of the suburbs that we can be alone together. I desperately want to just ask him out now and get it over with, but just before the words leave my lips I'm reminded of how often I see Peter and MJ together, and it stops me.

Thinking quickly I ask. "Why do you think Arachnid never turned up?"

"Who?" Peter responds and takes a brief pause before continuing, "Oh yeah, that other spider themed hero, I have been seeing a lot of him lately."

"What makes you think they're a he?" I quickly interject, "Have you seen their colour scheme, purple and black with white and yellow accents. Those are the exact colours of my pride flag." I say pointing to the badge I have pinned on my beanie.

Oh, I'm just now realising that I've never told you what my day-to-day outfit is. on a normal day I wear a faded black denim jacket with a Union jack painted across the back (I'm a quarter English on my dad's side, and we visited relatives a lot when I was younger) with a band shirt underneath, the shirt varies(usually a punk band), but arachnid is always the shirt just in different forms. I wear black jeans as well with a purple studded belt for a little dash of colour. The aforementioned beanie is also black but covered in badges ranging from anarchistic symbols to my pride flag, there's also an Umbreon, a Decidueye, and a Meowscarada cuz I'm a massive nerd. as for shoes, I don't put too much thought into them, it's usually just a pair of black trainers. Anyway, back to the story.

"I never thought that deeply about it, admittedly not many superheroes I've seen wear anything to signify their gender or sexual preference." Peter says, thinking a little too deeply about it, but that's normal for him. "Either way, maybe they were busy dealing with some other low-level, or they were enjoying a perk of having more than one spider-person and taking a break."

"Maybe," I respond while looking up at the sky, which was mostly blue aside from a creeping orange to the corner of my eye, a signal that I need to think about heading home.

"Thank you for hanging with me, my parents were really on my case about studying, and I kinda told them you were tutoring me, which, since we're lab partners now, isn't a complete lie."

"No problem Hito, anytime you wanna hang out, just shoot me a text and we can sort something out. You're a very easy person to hang out with." Peter responds with a slight shiver in his voice.

"Are you cold?" I ask, taking off my jacket and handing it to him, knowing that I can keep myself warm with my pryomancy.

"Yeah, a little." He says with a chuckle, putting on my jacket, "I should probably think about getting home now, are you alright getting home?"

"Yeah, I'm fine, but let's get you home before you freeze." I say smiling a bit, mostly cuz of how charming Pete looks in my jacket, so much so I'm almost tempted to let him keep it, but I take it back as we arrive at his front door.

"Can't have you stealing my style Pete." I say as I put the jacket back on, a full smile beaming across both our faces as we laugh. "Thanks again, I really needed this." I say drawing Pete in for a hug, hiding my face behind his shoulder, so he doesn't see how much I'm blushing.

"Again, it's no problem." Pete says as he opens the front door. "You sure you're fine getting home, you're more than welcome to stay over, we've got a spare room.

I really, really want to say yes, but I don't want to end up saying on doing something stupid by accident, so I politely decline and say I've got a mountain of homework waiting for me at home as I take my leave.

"See you tomorrow, mate." I say as I walk away.

"See you tomorrow." Pete replies as he walks inside.

The swing home is a bit of a slog, but I still get home faster than I was expecting and immediately crash on my bed. I imagine how my talk with Peter would've been different if I'd told him how I feel. Sometimes, me and Pete will take a joke a little to far and he'll say something that I think is flirting, but it could just be his confidence.

I try not to dwell on it as I drift off to sleep.
