"Youngjae!!" my ears would turn deaf if my sister kept yelling that loud into my ears. I pulled the phone away slightly from my ears before putting it back to its place.
"What is it now?" I asked slightly irritated.
"You remember you have to go to Jaehyun's school this afternoon, don't you?"
"Yeah yeah yeah.. I remember. I have a manager to remind me, remember?" I replied to her sarcastically.
"Don't be late. Jaehyun is very interested and is looking forward to your play," her voice was laced with playfulness.
"Jaehyun or you sis?" I knew she was the one being all excited, as she has told me several times before this.
"We both," she said cheekily. "Anyway, don't be late. You have to do the final rehearsal one hour before the actual show."
"Yeah..yeah..yeah.. I know. See you there, sis."
"Okay see you.."
GOT7 chatroom
JB: Where are you going?
YJ: Jaehyun's school.
JY: Are you dating again?
YJ: Am not!
YJ: It was my sister.
YJ: She nominated me and I got picked to volunteer in Jaehyun's school play.
BB: What play?
YJ: A school play. You know, the one you have when you're still kids.
YJ: They will pick one famous fairytale to re-enact.
YG: And what will you play today?
YJ: The snow white. They picked 'The Snow White'
JS: Wait, are you going to be the prince?
JS: Will there be a kissing scene?
YG: 😳 That's inappropriate for kids.
BB: Ooohh.. Interesting...
YJ: Oh, just shut up..
I arrived at the school on time, already in my costume. I walked around to find Hyebin but everyone seemed so busy. I managed to snatch one of the teachers and she pointed me the way to the hall where the play would be held. I walked there and the other teacher immediately recognized me and dragged me to the backstage.
"Oh good, you're here on time," she led me to the backstage. I heard the kids were on the stage already. They've begun the final rehearsal, apparently. "Here," she gave me a clipped on mic, completely sure that I knew how to put it on. "Your part would be after this. The witch will give the apple and the princess will bite it, she will fall and the kids will be singing. The princess will be placed inside the coffin and that's your cue to come up on stage. Don't forget to sing your part after your lines," she reminded me.
"Eh? Sing?" I quickly went through the script once again. I totally missed the part where I had to sing a confession song to the princess before giving her a kiss. I sighed. Well, I guessed being a professional came in handy for situation like this. I quickly memorized the lyrics and started to hum the melody. Luckily, the song was a short one as it was for a kids' play, so it was very simple. I was still memorizing it when the previous teacher nudged me, telling me that it was my time to go to the stage.
I went up to the stage, slightly blinded by the spotlight. I didn't remember it was this bright and shiny when I was a kid myself. Or maybe schools these days have better equipments? I gathered myself immediately and started to say my lines. Gee, why were those lines have to be cheesy? I managed to say them anyway and started to sing my part. Luckily I was able to memorize the words quickly. Then it was time to look inside the coffin. I was supposed to look at the princess and then lowered my head, pretended giving a kiss while in fact I just had to lean closer before coming back up. But damn, nothing prepared me when I finally saw Hyebin in the coffin.
