Old Mate (KageHina Omegaverse)

Chapter 15

They walked out of his office. Yachi looked at them confused. "Sir?" She said as they left the building. Yachi sighed then let everyone off early. They got into the car and Tadashi rushed to the hospital. "I'll tell Koshi we're on our way with him." Kenma said while grabbing his phone from his pocket. Tadashi nodded, then hurried to the hospital Hinata was at. When they parked at the hospital, Kageyama took a deep breath. He hasn't felt this nervous in years. What made him feel so nervous? Maybe it was because someone's life was in his hands. Maybe he was afraid that the news of him leaving his marked omega would get out. Maybe he just didn't want Hinata to die. The three of them walked inside of the hospital. "We're here for Hinata Shoyo..." Tadashi said with a hesitant tone. Hopefully they weren't too late. 

"Room 328." The nurse said after typing his name in her computer. They went to the elevator then took it to the third floor. They walked to his door then opened it. Hinata was lying there still unconscious, he still didn't have a smell to him but Kageyama's heart broke. He tensed up then hesitantly walked towards the orange-haired omega. The only way you could even tell Hinata was alive was the heart-monitor connected to him. "Well I'll go get the doctor. Hopefully there is a physical way to get him to wake up." Kenma said, getting ready to leave the room. Tadashi nodded, then Kenma left. The room was quiet and Kageyama slowly held Hinata's hand. Kageyama had no idea what to do, his heart was throbbing. Tears started appearing in his eyes, but Tadashi started sobbing. 

"I really hope it's not too late. He always helped me even though he was suffering from this condition for years." Tadashi said, crying even harder. Kageyama did feel really guilty. All of a sudden a phone started ringing. Tadashi pulled out his phone then quickly answered it seeing it was Koshi. "Hello?" Tadashi answered, Kageyama looked at him in confusion. "Uh the police are here to do questioning. They need you to come to your house immediately." Koshi said, Tadashi sighed. "Alright." Tadashi said. He hung up then looked at Kageyama. "Kenma should um, be back. I have to go..." Tadashi said getting ready to leave. Kageyama nodded and looked back at Hinata. Kageyama had so many thoughts rushing in his head. He wondered how the omega would react if- when he woke up. 

Tadashi left Kageyama and Hinata in the room together alone. Kageyama bit his lip. He really hoped he didn't... kill the poor omega, his poor omega. Kenma came back in the room with a doctor then looked at the alpha confused. "Where did Tadashi go?" Kenma asked, looking around the room. "He had to leave for police questioning." Kageyama said in a low tone. The doctor checked Hinata's vitals and condition. "Can I get a rundown on his situation and condition?" Kageyama asked while staring at the doctor. She nodded then read something on her clipboard. "It's a pretty common case of bondlysis. Meaning, an omega with a bond but without a mate. The mark itself deteriorates making the omega become mentally and physically ill." The doctor explained. 

"Well I'm his mate. How can I help him?" Kageyama asked in a serious manner. Kenma looked at the doctor as well. "Well we do have to do a test to make sure you are his mate. Then you would have to do a pheromone test, after that you would have to keep releasing pheromones until he would wake up. But if said patient doesn't wake up in 36 hours, we do take them off life support." The last sentence made Kageyama tense up. He remembered what Kenma said about the two of them having a kid. "Alright. Well hurry up, we obviously don't have a lot of time." Kageyama said in a grumbling manner. The doctor nodded then left the room for assistance from another nurse. Kageyama took a deep breath then kept looking at Hinata. Kenma kept glaring at Kageyama, it was the alpha's fault his best friend was even like this. 

After the doctor came back with another nurse they started the test. The nurse put a band over Kageyama's arm then looked at a scale connected to it. The doctor uncovered Hinata's mark then rubbed an alcohol wipe on it roughly. Kageyama flinched then squeezed Hinata's hand tighter. "Positive." The nurse said while still looking at the scale. Kageyama was having trouble resisting his instincts. The nurse took the band of Kageyama then they put cream over Hinata's mark. The nurse took Kenma outside the room so they could do a pheromone test. The doctor grabbed something that looked almost like a thermometer but a little smaller. He placed it on Kageyama's scent glance. "Alright now let out any smell you want to." The doctor said, the alpha did as told then the doctor hummed. 

"Yep, your pheromones should be strong enough. You can start letting out more pheromones now."
