"Congratulations on your successful fashion show, Miss Fontana! The runway was so amazing!"
There were a lot of people who came towards me as the event ended. The VIP sponsors and even our guests were here. There are a lot of cameras around me.
"Welcome back to the Philippines, Miss Fontana. I heard that you're going to have your own clothing company here in our country. Are you going to stay here for good?" An interviewer asked me.
"Uhm, yes. I'm gonna stay here for good since my family is originally living here. I also prefer to build my main clothing company here in the Philippines and I'm still planning to have a branch in New York." I explained.
After the interviews, I bid goodbyes to the other coordinators and the models. I was with my assistant as we walked to the car.
"Where's my phone?" I asked her. She panicked a little bit while searching for my phone.
"Here, Ma'am."
"Thanks. Did you saw Macky during the show? He did not meet me earlier in the event."
"No, Ma'am. I didn't saw him." She formally said. I sighed and turn to look at her.
"Hey, relax. You're too tense. Why do you look so nervous?"
"Uhm. . . B-Becau- because. . Uh. . Y-You're-"
"You can speak in tagalog. Don't worry, I can understand." I smiled at her a little bit. She suddenly sighed and looked relieved.
"Hay, nakakaintindi nga po pala kayo, Ma'am. Sorry po, hindi kasi ako sanay mag-english." She said while holding her nape.
"That's fine. You can talk to me in any way that you're comfortable." I chuckled.
"Pero, Ma'am Alora. Diba po lumaki kayo sa New York? Paano po kayo nakakaintindi ng tagalog?" She asked. I suddenly become silent.
"Oh.. Uhm. I met someone who always speaks in tagalog and sometimes that person was teaching me to understand that language." I explained while she was just nodding as she listened.
"Ah. Mabuti nalang pala nakilala niyo siya." She said dreamily. I looked away and smiled.
"Yeah. I'm so thankful that I met him."
Very thankful.
"Nandito na po tayo, Ma'am Alora."
I looked outside the window and saw my house. Lumabas na ako at sumunod sa akin si Faye, my assistant. I thanked the driver after he put all my things inside.
"You may go now, Faye," I said. She nodded and closed the door.
As I walked inside the living room, I saw my dad with my brother.
"I'm home!" I exclaimed. They both turn their head towards me.
"Yow, Alora. Congrats on your show. I saw it on TV. That was dope!" My brother walked towards me and wrapped his arms around my shoulders.
"Thanks, brother." I smiled sweetly at him.
Nakarinig kami ng pagbagsak ng gamit. We both stopped talking as we saw dad just walk away without saying anything. I just sighed and looked away. I was already expecting this.
"It's okay, Ate. Someday, they will also accept it." He said as he pulled away.
I just nodded and excused myself. I smiled bitterly as I closes the door to my room.
From the start, mom and dad didn't really support me in my dreams. They did not want me to be a fashion designer even if that is what I really want to be.
