"What was that, Alora Jewel?! You made me so embarrassed in front of them! Aren't you ashamed of what you did?!"
My mom suddenly walked into my room when I was about to sleep. I was staring at her while she was walking back and forth and scolding me. I sighed and put my hand on my temple.
"Mom, can we just talk about this tomorrow? I know you're also tired." I said.
"No! I'm not done talking to you! When will you listen to us?! We are doing this for you, Alora. If you'll do what we say and marry Leviticus, then you'll have a bright future. You can buy whatever you want. They can help you to be successful." She walked towards me and hold my hand.
"We trust them, Alora. So you should trust them too," she whispered.
"What about me, Mom? Do you even trust me?"
Her smile dropped and let go of my hands quickly. I looked down at my hands as I felt the tears forming in my eyes again.
"I can be successful too without anyone's help. I'm not even complaining when you don't want to support me on what I want to be." I was gripping the bed sheet while looking down.
"Most designers don't get rich, Alora." She said sternly. I scoffed and looked at her.
"Hmm. Really?" I smiled bitterly. "So if I will marry Leviticus Palomar, I will be rich and successful?" I said and she nodded.
"Yes."
"No, mom. I don't to live with unfulfilled desires. I don't want to live like that."
"Is that even important, Alora?" I gasped at what she just said.
"You're the one who even told me that happiness is more important than money. What happened to the things that you always remind me of when I was a kid?"
She did not say anything and just stare at me. I put my hand on my temple as I felt my head was aching.
"I'm tired, Mom, and I know you are too."
I laid down and pulled my blanket up to my head. I heard her sigh and walked out of my room so I just closed my eyes and tried to sleep.

"I'm still going to study fashion designing, dad, and I'm planning to enroll in Chaseford University," I said as my dad asked me.
Before he could say anything, my mom suddenly stood up and pointed her finger towards me.
"Alora Jewel!" My dad holds her arms to calm her down. I thought he was going to be on my side, but that's just what I thought.
