"Alora! Come down, sweetie!" I heard my mom shouting from downstairs.
I put down my toys and went out of my room. I saw my mom and dad talking with someone in our living room.
"Come here, Alora." My mom smiled sweetly and made me sit on her lap. "This is my daughter, Alora Jewel. She's now 7 years old." She said.
"Oh really? They're the same age as my son." The woman turns around looking for someone. "Huh? Where's that boy?"
"I guess, he went outside. I'll just call him." Said the man beside her and he stood up. "Excuse me."
"I'm very sorry about that. My son is a little bit naughty and he just wanted to play all the time." The woman explained.
"Oh, we understand. That's okay, they're still kids. Let them enjoy their childhood."
After a while, the man came back with a boy in his arms. The little boy was frowning while his arms are crossed.
"Ma! Naglalaro lang ako eh! Hindi naman po ako pupunta sa malayo!" The boy complained. I understand a little bit of what he was saying but not totally. I know it is the Filipino language because my nanny is sometimes teaching me some words.
I was born and raised here in New York but my parents are both Filipino. I just didn't know why they moved here. My grandparents and other family members are in the Philippines but sometimes they were still visiting us.
"Sshh! Wag ka ngang ganyan Leviticus! Nakakahiya sa mga kaibigan ng papa mo oh. Bumibisita lang tayo dito!" The woman whispered to the boy who went silent.
"Alora, why don't you play with him? Share your toys with him, alright?" She patted the top of my head when I nodded.
I took a glance at the boy who is now staring at me. I went upstairs again and took my toys. After that, I went outside our house and saw the boy sitting on the grass. I walk towards him and dropped my toys in front of him.
"Aray!" He shouted when one of my barbies hit his head.
He looked up and saw me staring at him with my blank face. He was frowning while rubbing his head.
"Dahan-dahan ka naman! Paano kung magkabukol ako? Edi hindi na ako cute at pogi." He said.
"What are you talking about?" I asked as my brows were furrowed. He was stunned as he realized something.
"Hindi ka ba nakakapagsalita ng tagalog?" He said slowly.
I just tilted my head and stared at him full of confusion. I honestly don't understand anything about what he was saying.
My eyes widened in shock when he suddenly stood up and was about to run away.
"Hey! Where are you going?!" I shouted while looking at the boy who is now running away.
