(Hugo casually walks on stage with a smug look, tossing and catching the totem back and forth)

Cyrus: (looks at him)

Hugo: Hey, big guy. Anything happen while I was away? I'm kidding. Not that you'd tell me anyway. Where's Don?

Cyrus: (points with his thumb behind him and steps aside)

Donnella: (standing there with arms crossed) What is it, Hugo?

Hugo: (rolls eyes and tosses her the totem) The totem you sent me for. I don't know what you want it for. It's utterly useless. Unless it's worth a lot of money, then I would understand.

Donnella: Don't throw this thing around! It's utterly priceless and the only one, which could never be replaced!

Hugo: Jeez, ok.

Donnella: (groans and rubs her forehead). How did you get it so fast?

Hugo: Oh, two dorks were ahead of me and did the trial. I swooped in and snatched it.

Donnella: Someone was after the totems?

Hugo: Yeah. They even had a book to guide them. Said something about his mom writing it, I don't know. Frankly, I don't give a dime in general.

Donnella: (grabs his shoulders) What was this person like? Was it a he? Was he your age with a face full of freckles, black hair and a blue stripe?

Hugo: Yep. And a short kid. Know him?

Donnella: It can't be... (she begins to pace) Change of plans, Hugo. You're going back and giving him the totem. You're going to do all the trials with him and become his friend. Then we'll take all the totems before they reach the library.

Hugo: You want me to do what?! I literally just stole that. How the heck am I going to gain their trust now?

Donnella: You'll find a way. You're Hugo. You always do.

Hugo: You're crazy! I'm not doing that!

Donnella: Yes, you are. Because I told you so and I don't want to hear another complaint about it.

Hugo: (groans) Fine! (Takes the totem and stuffs it in his satchel)

Donnella: And don't let any harm come to that totem! Stop slinging it around! If you break it, I'll have your hide!

Hugo: (raises his hands in defense) Jeez, woman. I got the message. Were we out of coffee this morning?

Donnella: Hurry up and go track them down.

Hugo: Alright, I'm going. Can't give a guy a break can you? (Walks off stage)

Donnella: (to Cyrus) This is horrible. I knew I should have done this sooner, but no one was interested in the trials. The moment I decided it was time to collect the totems again, the brat decided to collect them. But if he has Ulla's book, then Hugo should fare much better and make it far more easier. Glad he doesn't get attached easily because things might get a little harsh. Come on, Cyrus. We have work to do.

(They walk off stage while Yong and Varian enter the other side)

Yong: What are we going to do? I don't know where the heck he went.

Varian: Don't worry, we'll figure this out.

Hugo: Or you could just turn things around and get a new angle.
