"Are you sure you're ok?" Paul asked as you drove up to the airport.
"Yes, I'm fine. Just a brief moment of emotions. Which were to be expected. I know I shouldn't be saying this but your son is kind of an ass," you say, seeing out of the corner of your eye, Paul smirking at you.
"Yes, he kind of is. Apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. Since I did sleep with you," he pointed out.
"Plus that was a couple days ago. Don't make me regret taking the morning off to see you butt off at the airport," you said as you parked your car in the parking lot.
"You know you don't have to walk me to the gate right?" he questioned, as you rolled your eyes.
"Ok, that screams that no one has ever seen you off on a trip the right way before," you said as you remembered you hadn't done the same for Evan right before everything went crashing down in that relationship, as you tried to shake yourself of that realization.
"Ok, just giving you an out, that's all," Paul said as you both got out of the car.
"Out? me? Really? Didn't we sign a contract?" you questioned playfully as he wrapped his arm around your shoulders as you both walked into the airport to find out where his gate was.
"Yes, you did. But this wasn't part of it," he mentioned, as you looked up at him.
"Well, you wanted a relationship so you will be getting me to drop you off at the airport," you said, shaking your head at him. For the first time it seemed like the roles were reversed between the two of you. For once you seemed confident in how everything had been working out between the two of you. Which probably had to do with him following after you after the party the previous day. And what he said to Evan that you knew he probably didn't know that you had overheard when everyone else had left after the disaster of a celebration to kickstart the new tour they were going on.

You were sitting in the bathroom with Paul, wiping the tears from your face.
"Are we, or have we been rubbing it in his face?"
"What?" Paul asked as he got up and turned on the sink, running a washcloth through the cold water. And wrang out all the excess water before passing it over to you to put on your face.
"Have we been rubbing this, us, in his face? That's the only reason why I think he would think doing any of this and think that it would be ok to do. To in some way get back at me," you said as you patted the cool washcloth against your face and neck repeatedly. Which was helping calm your nerves.
"No, we haven't been but that's just us. I don't see the point. Because going out on dates with you is different then showing up to an event in this way. Hell, I didn't even invite him this time. Which reminds me," Paul said, holding up a finger as he exited the bathroom.
You got up a couple moments later. Hearing him opening the sliding door, but not closing it all the way.
"Ok, it's obvious the party is over," Paul said as you saw Eric and Tommy look in his direction and give him an understanding look, as they as well as everyone else walk out of the backyard through the side gate. With Gene lingering a bit. And smiling. Not at Paul but at you, as he followed behind everyone else.
You narrowed your eyes at him from where you were standing inside the house.
He was the one that invited Evan because he knew that this would happen.
The girl that was with Evan also followed behind everyone else. Looking back at Evan, where he was, as he walked up to Paul with a satisfied look on his face.
