"Fucking stupid bitch!"

Out of all the things that ever happen to me in my life, there were worse things than being stranded in the middle of nowhere during a thunderstorm.

For example, I could be on my way to a Harry Styles concert and I lose my ticket. Or I could be tied to a chair and forced to watch Stephen Chbosky's "Perks of being a wallflower" on repeat until I cried enough tears to fill an enter ocean.

Okay, I wouldn't want the first option to happen, that would've been worse than this.

Five brothers and you will think I know how to change a flat tire, bitting back my frustration when the raindrops got heavier on the windshield, and thunder boomed throughout the dark sky.

Normally, I'd be less stressed about this situation because I had a half-charged phone and my car kept me shelter from the rain. But Ares's twenty-seven birthday party was nearing, his mint chocolate ice cream cake in the backseat of my car slowly started to melt and I was stranded.

I have to admit, my glass might be half kinda full most of the time but this is the exact scene where a girl gets herself brutally murdered in the middle of nowhere by a creepy man in a mask.

Military family and not one bit of self-defense in my blood.

I mentally scold myself for this, I had limited options. it was a Friday night everyone I know was already at the party, and let's say, my best friend list was very short almost nonexistent.

I had my service car, but I sent my bodyguard Ren home for the weekend to spend time with his wife and I wouldn't dare disturb him. I could call an Uber but the thought of my brothers scolding me for getting into an unknown person's car ran an unwanted chill up my spine.

I watched one too many horror movies, so hitchhiking was out of the picture. I had at least five options left and I really didn't want to ask, but god damn it.

I dialed the familiar contact and pressed the call button. Three rings went in one ear and out the other, god damn it pick up.

Walking in the rain carrying an ice cream cake would be much better than having to call my brother. Of course, I choose to call the brother who will most likely murder me and then scold my dead body for putting myself in this situation.

"What's wrong?"

I frown at how my eldest brother, Ivan answered the phone. "Why do you think something is wrong every time I call you?"

Ivan grumbled. "Because that's why you're always calling me,"

Okay, that's half true, Ivan was my safety net, as eldest brother it is after all his job to make sure all his siblings are okay.
