Dawn Drakos
Seattle, Washington
. . .Monday, it was only Monday.
Bringing my coffee to my nose, I sniffed it, trying to see if the barista pour any vodka or any alcohol of any sort into my drink. That would at least explain the lack of missing time, I think.
Nothing, just the normal smell of my Carmel whipped cream iced coffee.
"Axel..." I trailed off, the word leaving me in a whisper. "What the hell is going on?"
Axel- my very good friend and assistant at Drakos Architects, one of the many companies I opened up here in Seattle. He slowly turned his lips into a sheepish grin.
I watched his afro bounce with motion, an expression of slight fear and disbelief marring his feminine features. He lowered his head, reaching my height, my heels not even matching his five-eleven figure even with him wearing platform shoes.
"You have a meeting today with Mr. Prescott, and his partner who has not shown up yet," His head peeked around me, looking into my office where, Damon Prescott, sat patiently waiting for me.
I watched him give a small wave behind me then return his gaze to my hazel eyes, lips parted, I stared at my assistant for a good two minutes. We stood directly outside my office to my disliking at this very moment at had glass walls, Damon Prescott could see and possibly hear every word spoken.
I had planned to come into the office and make up the work I'd haven't got the chance to do this late Friday, I would've done it on Saturday or Sunday but I haven't made it back to Seattle until Sunday night, my car was now in the shop and Ren was back to driving me around.
Walking out of the elevator, Axel just so manage to inform me of the Damon Prescott, sitting in my office.
"Should we reschedule this another time?" Damon's voice sent a wave of surprise through me, my neck whipped and in the process, my hair smacked Axel in the face.
"No! I mean- no, there's no need just give me a second, please?" I ran my hands down the smooth outline of my yellow dress, a smile tugging at my lips to cover the outburst I just threw his way.
With a nod, he takes a seat. Turning my gaze back to Axel, looping my arm through his as I move closer to the elevator away from my office door.
"Why is he here? nobody informed me I had a meeting with him," I whisper-yell, a small grin tugging at his lips and I found this nothing but funny.
"Aslyn set it up, I meant to tell you on Friday but you already left and then it slipped my mind over the weekend- I kinda had a date and it went-" I held my hand up cutting him off, a sheepish smiled sending my way.
"That bitch," I mumbled aiming it mostly towards my best friend Aslyn, with a deep sigh. I ran my hands down my dress, pushed my iced coffee into Axel's hands, and, walked into my office.
