. . .

I stayed at the office for another hour, talking with guest after guest and drawing out sketches for upcoming projects. We migrated to the common room after I got myself together after Roman left, and we spent the rest of the time together planning events.

Still, my body was flushed, no matter how much they kept talking and adverting my gaze to every conversation. My thoughts went back to him, the way his hands touched my body, and how much I'd enjoyed it.

A wave of nerves crashed against my insides, and the thought of him drown me alive. I sat in my robe, trying to focus on the thought I will be seeing my family tonight, yet I was bottled up with frustration thinking of Roman, fuck.

Tonight will be the first time seeing my family since everything happened, I need a drink.

I turned on the shower and stepped beneath the shower head, the spray of hot water burn my skin. My family is nothing but curl humans, hate and fury rest in my chest but...how much I love them even after everything.

My time was limited, I wasted half of it worrying about my family and the other thinking about Roman hands inside of me. I washed my hair, showered, and shaved in a matter of minutes.

Despite the dreading fear looming in my gut about this event, I still wanted to be ready on time. My gown was a simple but elegant, black satin dress, the slit on my thigh raising to just beneath my hip.

My heart rate picked up when I got in the back of the limo, I was going to see my family tonight. Confronting problems has always been an issue for me, when you acknowledge a problem it becomes real.

I noticed the vehicle coming to a stop, the event was being held in Portland, and I'd been sitting in the backseat for only thirty minutes.

"Ren?" I watched his gaze quickly look to mine in the rare view mirror, a small smile on his face.

"Yes?"

"Where are we, why are we stopping?" I watched his eyes soften and his smile grew, Ren is a kind, sweet man but he was also filled with mischief, my throat went dry and a wave of nerves rushed through me.

"It is a surprise although, I think you would enjoy their company tonight," He nods, sending me a look before getting out of the car and opening my door.

A chill ran down my spine, watching his hand reach out. I don't know why but now I was more nervous than ever, curiosity kills the cat as I placed my hand in his, looking around we were at a heliport.

The helicopter was in the middle of the port but my eyes scanned the port until they met his. Roman stood near the helicopter, looking more handsome than ever in his black tuxedo. With his perfect hair and clean-shaven face, I hated how my body reacted just at the sight of him.

My lips parted at the bouquet of white roses in his hands. I pulled my eyes away from the pretty flowers and dropped my arms in disbelief.

"Roman," I couldn't hide the amusement in my voice, my body was flushed feeling his eyes search my body just like how he was looking at me early today.

"Did you think I was going to let you go to this event alone?" He was in front of me in a matter of seconds by the time he finished speaking.

Romans' gaze coasted from my face down to the edge of my dress, looking at the YSL heels I'd chosen to wear tonight.

The air shifted growing heavier, and I felt like I was stuck in a trance looking into his eyes. The heat seeped through my satin dress and curled between my legs.

His fingers moved towards my hair, wrapping the strands around his finger, "We don't want to be late, baby,"

"I don't want to go in the first place," I hummed, moving towards the helicopter. I had a bit of fear with a helicopter a couple of years back, we get into our seats, and I reached for the seat belt but he beat me to it.

"I know, but you will have to face them at one point." He hummed, though as I focus on his words my eyes watched his hands buckle me in like I was a child.

"I suppose," I pulled away from his gaze, looking at the bouquet of roses and a smile rested on my lips despite my nerves. "You didn't have to do this tonight Roman,"

I turn my head and our eyes connect lightening that fire in my belly once again, something about the way he looked at me made me forget that we shouldn't even be looking at each other like this.

Had I always tried to ignore the liquid electricity that dipped down my spine and pooled in my stomach, a simple look or touch somehow lit me up from the inside out.

"When will you learn, I will do anything for you, moya lyubov',"
