Raghav POV's
As soon as I exited the Dehradun airport a swarm of people—reporters to be precise blocked my way...
"Mr. Rathore..are you also here to attend the royal wedding?" A lady asked me shoving her mic near my face. My bodyguard Rahul immediately came and stood between me and the crowd.
Somehow after hustling and bustling I sat in my car and drove away to royal palace.
After fairly long drive in the mountains, I, along with my two bodyguards entered into the palace and were welcomed with flowers showered upon me.
Suddenly a flower got stuck in my hair and I raked my fingers in my hair to remove it.
"Mr. Rathore....aapka swagat hai!" The crown prince Aahil said with a smile approaching me.
"Thank you, your highness." I said.
His expression changed for bit and I know why...because he was expecting formal greeting from me..and I didn't bow to him while thanking him. The only reason I was attending this so called "royal wedding" was only for business purposes.
I excused myself and walked to my room by a royal staff. After carrying my luggage when he was leaving I gave him ₹30,000 as a tip, and he accepted it with a warm smile and a 'thank you'.
The room was majestically decorated and was a bit too much for my taste... I slide the curtains from the large window near my bed and saw the sun setting in the horizon of green mountains. I loosened my tie and took a deep breath while observing the beautiful view.
Suddenly I felt tug on my coat and
I immediately looked behind it was a little kid standing...he must be around 4-5 years old."Uncle, can I hide in your room?!" He said in soft pleading voice.
I bend down to his level and smiled. "Of course!"
"Thank-
"Arjun! There you are! I was— A girl in her early twenties paused with a startled look on her face.
Her brown eyes widened in shock, she frantically walked toward me and held my hand inspectingly."You'r bleeding!" She gasped staring at my hand.
I examined my hand. 'I think it happened when I was walking out of the airport exit that was surrounded by the media and I might have gotten hurt while getting in the car hurriedly.'
She immediately searched through the drawers until she found a first aid kit.
"How can you be so irresponsible?!" She made me sit on the foot of the bed. And the kid settled down next to me with a mischievous grin. And at this point I was totally confused that why this girl was reacting so much about a cut and especially considering , that we just met. But surprisingly, I didn't felt weird or anything of that sort. I hate to admit but the way she was holding my hand in her hand...it actually felt weirdly nice.
"How did you get this cut?!" She asked tugging a long hair strand behind her earlobe.
"Ummm I don't know?" I replied unsurely.
"Hmmm okay...anyway I have done the bandage make sure you change it on time." She let go of my hand and I felt like something important had just slipped through my hand.
"Thank you..miss."
"Your welcome Mr." she smiled, which made me warm inside.
"And you little guy..its time to go home now!" She told the kid and held his hand taking him with her.
"Bye uncle." He waved with a big goofy smile.
"Bye.."
"Who was her?" I whispered to myself.
Two days later...
Today everyone was waiting restlessly for Crown prince to announce about his future bride. And for this important moment the royal family had arranged a royal ball for their guests who were invited to the wedding ceremony.
But I was waiting for her to show up so I can ask her name..and thank her once again for her kindness.
"Good evening everyone! I hope you all are enjoying the royal ball...I know you all are waiting for Crown prince to announce his potential future bride...further more ado please welcome the Crown prince Aahil Singh Raana" the announcer said.
"Hello everybody..." Aahil started with a smile. And everybody started to listen him; apart from me.
I settled on my table and order a neat whiskey while I went through my important mails.
"... this time we have invited 6 houses! Lady Aarohi, lady Preeti, Princess Rati, Princess Mandakini ...!" I faintly heard his voice in the background.
"—And..lady M— before he could finish his mic suddenly went off.
I looked up and my eyes landed on her..the girl from yesterday. She was wearing a sky blue sari and long black hair was cascading on her delicate shoulders.
Without wasting time I walked to her adjusting my coat a bit.
"Hi.."
"Oh hello!" She immediately smiled. And felt my heart beat fastened.
"How are you?" She asked.
"I am good..how are you?"
"Good too.." she replied.
"Um how come you are here?" I looked around a little just scan that no one was watching us.
"I was invited here along with my other coworkers. And what about you?"
"I was also invited." I said.
"Are you related to him?"
"No!" I said without missing a beat.
"Oh then?"
"I am one of their investors..."
Her eyes widened for sec. "I am sorry, sir! I didn't know...then I would have not bothered you with my stupid—
I placed my finger on her soft lips before she could finish her rambling. I took her hand led us on the balcony of the palace.
"Stop..you didn't bothered me..in fact...I did..I shouldn't have told you about myself."
"You didn't Mr. I still don't know your name.." She removed my finger from her lips but still kept hold of my hand in her small hand while I glanced over her.
"My name is Raghav Singh Rathore..."
"Raghav Singh Rathore?" She repeated after me.
"What's your name?"
"Maithili Joshi."
"Maithili?!!" Prince Aahil interrupted with a worried look like he had seen a ghost.
