Raghav's pov

"The moment I saw that tear in your eye..rolling down your cheek.." I glanced at her and noticed the duvet she was holding on so firmly was now slipping away from her grip.

The moment I realized what I was about to reveal to her. I closed my eyes and a took a deep breath.

I couldn't let her know that I was now planning a revenge...from all of the people who were involved in hurting her. How can they treat her like that?!
The so-called CrownPrince who said that she was his; was now finding security in other country. And the king and queen—they are living in their palace while my Maithili was living all alone in that palace waiting for her faith to be decided by these so-called royals.

"I should go..you sleep tight!" I immediately stood up and walked out of there.

"Raghav!" I stopped in my way and turned around slowly. In that moment my heartbeat stopped for a sec. When she ran up to me and stared into my eyes searching for unanswered questions.

"Before you go....i wanted to say—I am sorry." She said anxiously yet in low voice.
"What for?"

"That night I was rude to you!" She said. "And—

I moved closer and cupped her face. "Don't be sorry, i understand."

"You do?" She innocently asked.
A smile formed on my lips. "Yes."

Suddenly my eyes travelled to her hand.
"How did it happen?!" I instantly examined her hand.

"It's not that serious!" She tried to hid it.

"How did you get that scar?!"

"That night—while I was trying to run to exit...my saree was caught on the fire I tried to extinguish it but the fabric burned and it ended up sticking to my arm." Her eyes looked distant like she was reliving it. I gently held her hand.

"I am sorry that I couldn't be there on time!"

"No..please don't say that...if it wasn't you! I would have been dead." The tears ran down her cheek profusely. I cupped her face and the gently wiped her tears.

"Maithili, don't ever repeat those horrible words from your mouth again!"

"Raghav—they'll take me away—I don't wanna go!"

"No one is gonna take you Maithili. As long as I am here...they have to face me before laying a finger on you." I hugged her wrapping my hands around her.

Maithili's pov

"You are my wife now." He whispered against my ear giving me goosebumps. "My family." He said.

Instantly, he picked me up in arms and walked to our room. He gently placed me on the bed and then pulled the duvet over me.
"Good night, Princess." He said before leaving.

Next day

"Mrs Rathore, someone is here to see you." Reema the head of house-help said.

I stood up from the chair keeping the book on the table and went downstairs. My feet stopped when I saw her.

"Maithili."

"What are you doing here, crown Princess?" I asked as I walked closer.

"Why did you marry him?!" She asked in fury.

"What do you mean?—

"Do you even know who is he?!" She said irritatedly.

I just looked at her in confusion that after everything happened —why she was here?

"Why are you here?"

"To tell you that you have made a huge mistake by marrying Rathore!"

I stayed silent as I couldn't understand why she was behaving like this.
"He has withdrawn 110 crores  worth of investment from Raana Enterprise in just one hr. And because of this other investors doing the same thing!"

"How can I help you?" I asked her.

"Tell him to stop whatever he's doing! Or otherwise the Raana enterprise would be bankrupt since they have taken so much debt for their project which will be helping a lot of people to have jobs. And if Rathore didn't stop he's also be going in loss as well since his international clients are connected to my company—I'll cut the ties with his company—

"—By all means do that!" We both looked in the direction as soon as we heard his authoritative voice.  "Just because you are a crown Princess that doesn't mean you'll walk in my house and threaten my wife like that!"

"Mr. Rathore—

"Maithili, please go to your room. I'll be there." He said calmly.

"Alright." I replied and left.
