𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡

CHAPTER XL

It was snowing outside, so I quickly left my bed. And rushed through the stairs and went outside. I quickly played with it and let it fall on me. Then I heard hustle in the bushes in front. I followed the sound. And went deeper into the forest. I came across a tree which I used to have back in the human realm. I used to look at it from my room's window. I went closer and felt something wet fell on me. So I touched it to inspect it and it was blood.

I peeked up and saw my mother on one of the branch just laying there unconscious and bleeding. I tried to get a hold of her somehow. But I couldn't so went here and there to get help, but there was nothing. When I heard a hustle from the bushes in front of him. Hope gathering in me that there will be someone who can help. I went towards the noise and after fast walking for sometime I saw a big, black, creature in front of me. His eyes were all red.

I dashed away from it. When I heard another beast like that come in front of me and I still ran. And ran and ran. I tried to use magic on them, but nothing happened. I shouted, screamed for help. The beasts were quickly catching up with me. And I just kept running when I stopped and saw that there was a dead body in front of. It was Leah. I quickly tried to wake her up but can't and the beasts were coming faster and faster in my direction, so I had to leave her and ran.

When I heard my name. The creatures stopped running and slowly everything becoming dark and I opened my eyes. Just meet up with Derek's eyes. I quickly got up and hugged him and cried. I don't know why I was crying, but I did and he just sat there soothing me and letting me cry.

Finally, when I calmed down, he asked.

"What happened? What did you see?" He asked.

"I saw I was in a forest.....where there was tree and it had my mother laying unconscious on the branch with blood dropping on me. Then there were these black big bests with red eyes running after me and catching up quick and then I saw Leah's dead body and I had to leave her just to save myself." I said to him.

"It's okay, it was just a dream! Don't worry!" He said soothing. It had been long since I last had a nightmare and whenever I had it, believe me, every time I had them, something terrible happens.

"Sorry..." I mumbled

"For?" He said.

"I disturbed your sleep. I rarely have them, just occasionally. Sometimes like a warning to me!" I said truthfully. I still remember Laurie telling me that even my dreams were powerful, and sometimes they would warn me of things.

"It's okay now. Come, let's sleep!" He said and helped me laid down.

"Can I hug you while I sleep, just till I fell asleep?" I said, I too don't know why. But I just felt safe in his arms.

He said nothing, but just laid beside me and spooned me from behind.

"You don't have to ask." He said and kissed my forehead and I soon fell into deep slumber.

Next Day;

I woke up with Derek still beside me, sleeping. I smiled at him and went to the bathroom to freshen up. Last night's experience playing on my mind. I know this marriage was to type of make peace with Devlocsea and all the other kingdom.

Then I left the bathroom and went to the bathroom. I heard the bathroom door open once again and shower opening. I wore a high neck knitted T-shirt, ivory white color trousers,leopard print slingback bow heels. For the hairs, I tied a messy bun with some strands of hairs falling on my face. And very neutral makeup covering my puffy eyes from all the crying.

"Wear something warm!" I heard Derek say, entering the closet room in a towel. I look at him up to down, noticing he had a tattoo. I never noticed because of him always wearing shirts. My lips dried, so I licked them off.
