Chapter 20 - Crystallize

"Ready for battle!" yells Xiangling, already charging forward and her friends follow suit. Xiangling begins by speedily twisting her polearm, so she skids to a stop once she's close to the beast. Azhdaha's back starts to pulsate, releasing Primeval Spring - a barrage of infused stones close to the chef, who is able to deftly dodge and get away from the area of impact, before releasing Gouba and running off, allowing the panda to start applying Pyro onto the boss.

Ganyu, on the other hand, has started to charge her Frostflake Arrows, shooting from the edge of the arena, completely safe as she deals significant amounts of damage. Chongyun has raced over to slam his greatsword, creating a circular AoE, and Xingqiu runs in. "I may be immune, but thanks, Yun!" yells Xingqiu, casting his skills, now completely infused with Cryo, allowing him to deal damage for roughly 10 seconds, before signaling at Keqing, as Azhdaha does a Tail Slam but the two of them evade the damage due to the quick casting of her Lightning Stiletto, teleporting him to safety. "Face me!" shrieks Azhdaha, performing Earthshock as Keqing teleports to help Xiangling who is hastily running off from the pulsating cracked earth that explodes two seconds after. Yun Jin, who's been standing closely to Azhdaha, shocks the group by using Opening Flourish, creating a pulsating shield, that after Azhdaha jumps again, is fully charged and she leaps beautifully, having impressively, taken no damage.

Simultaneously, she's left three shards of Crystallize, which Xiangling, Qiqi and Chongyun pick up, forming Elemental Shields around the three of them.

Qiqi runs forward and casts her Icevein Talisman as it begins to orbit around Qiqi as she rapidly strikes Azhdaha, regenerating HP for everyone as well as dealing Cryo DMG. A final Frostflake Arrow is released from Ganyu, stunning the boss as it flinches and roars yet again, as a ring of Hydro starts to emit from the edge of the arena, pulsating as it imbues Azhdaha with Hydro and he growls once more. "The enraged earth will not absolve you!" howls Azhdaha, slamming its front feet one by one into the earth, as it prepares to attack. It starts with Tremors of Hydro, slamming into the ground with bursts of Hydro. Huge shockwaves of Hydro pulsate around the arena and ends the rotation with one huge slam. Ganyu is quite safe in this regard, due to being a ranged attacker, but the rest of her friends aren't at ease like her. They desperately try to evade the bubbles, as if they get hit, they will be afflicted with Hydro that is quick to reduce your HP.

Xinyan is quick to get afflicted, but she doesn't need to worry. All she does is activate her shield, cleansing the Hydro and now, she doesn't lose HP due to the shield. Simultaneously, everyone gets a shield, albeit not a very strong one, but it cleanses the Hydro, which was their greatest concern through the Hydro infusion. The musician began to strike the boss, throwing her claymore this way and that in an attempt to evade whenever her shield deteriorated. Keqing is quick to teleport to his feet and attack with her sword, infused with Electro as she rapidly attacks with lightning - fast speed. Xiangling activates Pyronado, dealing increased damage due to Vaporize being activated. Enraged, Azhdaha launches King's Roar, as bubbles start to swirl around the arena. Yet again, Ganyu launches a Frostflake Arrow, activating his final phase as he roars, and most of them cup their ears with their hands due to how insanely loud it was.

Finally, they were in the last phase of Azhdaha's fight. This time, a ring of Electro emits from the edge of the arena, pulsating as it imbues Azhdaha with Electro and he lets out the fiercest growl any of them had heard so far. "Today, you witness your reckoning! You stand upon your tomb, though you know it not!" shrieks Azhdaha, to which Ganyu stops charging her arrow to smugly remark, "We're about to defeat you, big guy. So shut up."

Luckily for her, the boss never heard the qilin, for if he did, he certainly would've found a way to gallop to the edge of the arena and defeat her. In the final stage, he begins by launching Thunder Sphere, as glowing orbs of Electro start to follow most of the students as they hurriedly evade it, either through sprinting or through shields. Azhdaha then growls, before submerging underground whilst only leaving his tail. Everyone looks at each other, confused, before yelping as a glowing circle surrounds the tail, with streaks of Electro tainting the ground here and there. They'd have to be careful to not get infused. He starts to zap parts of the arena, shifting with every attack. Qiqi launches Preserver of Fortune, healing everyone, as she marks Azhdaha's head with a Fortune - Preserving Talisman that deals Cryo DMG. Xingqiu goes ahead with Chongyun to deal Cryo DMG together, their blades infused in unison with each other.

Keqing can barely deal any damage in this phase, so she teleports in and out to help those who were going to be struck - namely Xiangling and Qiqi, getting a word of thanks with each successful rescue. Xinyan launches Riff Revolution as she strums rapidly on her guitar, causing bursts of Pyro to explode into the air like fireworks. In unison, Chongyun slams down his burst, performing the secret hand seals that summons 3 Spirit Blades to fall to the earth also known as Cloud - Parting Star, triggering Melt. Ganyu shouts at Keqing, bow in hand. "Qing, get me up close!"

The lavender - haired girl is quick to respond, zapping towards the qilin and scooping her up in her arms as she teleports back, and Ganyu casts Celestial Shower, as well as Trail Of The Qilin, dodging from the bursts of Electro striking the ground. Soon enough, her burst combined with Xiangling's Gouba and Pyronado quickly burned through the last bits of health remaining on Azhdaha. He stops attacking before resurfacing, and Yun Jin perfectly times his last attack with Opening Flourish, dealing the last blow and ending the fight. The boss does one final attack before collapsing - and this one nearly hits Ganyu, but Keqing teleports her out with Lightning Stiletto. The qilin murmurs, "Thanks, Qing," and Keqing feels like her heart might burst as she blushes lightly, before landing on the ground, Ganyu's arm slung over her shoulder.
