"Now come, cut your cake!" yells Xiangling, dragging out a glorious strawberry cheesecake with 'Happy Birthday Keqing,' drawled across it in chocolate calligraphy. "Yu, do it with me," mutters Keqing, to which Ganyu happily agrees. The two girls hold hands, a blush slowly creeping up onto Keqing's face as they do so before slicing the cake. In the process, a bit of frosting gets onto Ganyu's hand, and she giggles before dabbing it onto Keqing's face.
"Yu!" shrieks Keqing, taking a bit of frosting herself and racing after the qilin as they playfully attempt to dab the other with more frosting, before Keqing accidentally puts her finger in Ganyu's mouth. Ganyu licks it off as Keqing slowly retreats her finger, clean of frosting.
"Oh God," panics Keqing, turning back to the cake, crimson, as she slices a piece for everyone. Everyone enjoys the cake, letting out sighs of appreciation at Xiangling's baking. "Xiangling, you are really good at cooking, but your baking abilities are just as good! How do you do it?" exclaims Ganyu in delight. "I spend as much time as I can into cooking. It helps I go to such a good school like Liyue Academy where I'm not forced to focus into studies as much as my individual passions. I still need to pass, obviously, but my cooking skills are the true cream of the crop, the créme de la créme!" smirks Xiangling, proud of herself.
"Truly," murmurs Keqing, as she finishes the cake. "Want to do Just Dance?" questions Xiangling. "Hell yeah!" responds Xingqiu delightedly.
Keqing had a wonderful birthday that year.

"Ganyu simply radiates beauty," sighs Keqing, as she walks with Xiangling. "Isn't that a good thing?" ponders Xiangling. "It is, but sometimes I hate being queer, if I'm going to be honest. Don't get me wrong, it would be a one out of a billion chance if I ever dated a guy, but it's just... why did my heart have to pick her? There are so many other women I could've picked from. Why Ganyu? Why... my best friend, the person I trust most of all?" replies Keqing. "Sadly, you can't control your heart goes for, Keqing," smiles Xiangling. The lavender haired girl doesn't respond, and Xiangling leaps at the chance. "Ganyu kisses you under the lamppost," singsongs Xiangling, and glancing at her friend it seems those words have taken effect, as a blush forms on Keqing's face and a grin stretching from ear to ear appears on her flushed face.
"Gods, you're so whipped for her, Keqing!" chuckles Xiangling, as Keqing begins to run, Xiangling chasing her. "You're blushing, Keqing! You're blushing!" yells Xiangling, as the girl scurries away, her hands trying to desperately smother her burning face as she slows down. "You have to confess, Keqing. It's painful watching it just eat away at you like this. How are you going to be able to wait until we all graduate from school?" sighs Xiangling, as she places her hand on Keqing's shoulder, Gouba waddling behind her with a sad expression on their face. "You know I can't, Ling," murmurs Keqing, pausing, as her hands go to her back, her eyes lost in the seemingly endless night sky.
"Ganyu is so utterly gorgeous to me, from her glorious blue hair to her eyes that remind me of a Liyuean sunset, to the cute little smile she wears whenever she sees me. But..." trails Keqing.
"I treasure our friendship far too much for some stupid feelings to spoil it."
"And I'd rather be hopeful for a potential relationship rather than it get all shut down like that."
-------------------------------------
Keqing and Ganyu were sitting side - by - side in class, when Keqing noticed the qilin's arm covered in goosebumps. "Jeez, Yuyu, why didn't you tell me you were cold?" scolds Keqing, before removing her own jacket and giving it to Ganyu. "Keqing... but now you'll be cold!" replies Ganyu. "Oh, I've had it all lesson. Take it for now, you're shivering!" replies Keqing. "Thank you, Qing!" grins Ganyu, donning the jacket and snuggling into it. Suddenly, Keqing feels her heartbeat start to quicken.
Why the fuck did Ganyu look so adorably small in her jacket?
Such cuteness should be illegal.
Their Chinese lesson continues, Keqing stealing little glances every few minutes to gush even more at the qilin looking so sweet in her jacket, her face turning crimson. Keqing hopes Ganyu doesn't notice but she simply can't help herself. Her heart feels so incredibly full with love and it feels like she could confess from something as simple as this.
Of course, she won't, but it felt incredibly hard right then and there to not just blurt out her long bottled-up feelings.
-------------------------------------
Keqing hates loving Ganyu sometimes.
And she's tried multiple times to stop loving her.
To stop having these messy, horrible emotions that she should've never, ever had.
She's never loved any of her previous best friends.
Whatever is it about Ganyu that made her fall in love?
Crying at 3 AM, tears gently falling down her face and onto her bed, listening to Girls by Girl In Red makes her feel strangely comforted, even though she knows she's being emotional and stupid.
But then small things like this slam her in the face like a truck, causing her to fall even harder for the qilin.
-------------------------------------
Keqing and Ganyu were seated in class as their class teacher came up to the whiteboard. "Attention, students. Today, we have some special guests. As part of Qingce Lake Highschool rules, every two years we get people from neighboring nations to come and teach us battle skills, and how to improve your combat if the need every arises, be it due to your job or whether an enemy is attempting to attack you. Even if you may find this useless if you are planning to go into sectors like business, we still believe it is useful for Vision holders and Visionless people alike. So please, today we welcome our guests arriving from Mondstadt, the Kni-"says their teacher, before a burny red girl speeds into the classroom, yelling, "Spark Knight Klee of the Knights of Favonius, ready for duty!"
