Love has always been a confusing matter for Keqing. As a person who has never experienced it herself, she finds it pointless for an individual such as herself, but despite that, she knows how much happiness it brings to the people of Teyvat and beyond.
What she didn't expect, however, was for her to fall in love with the last person she expected.

At Keqing's House
"Hey, Keqing," calls her mother. "Yes, mom?" asks Keqing. "We're going to be moving in a couple days to Qingce Village. Now, I know you already have a lot of friends here in Liyue Harbor, but the prices for rent are getting higher and higher, and it's becoming really hard for Dad and me to keep living here. Besides, we think all of us could use a change of location. Think of it as an early birthday present?" says her mother. "It's going to be hard saying bye-bye to all my friends... but, I will be able to make lots more, right?" exclaims Keqing. "Of course!" replies her mother. "Okay then!" giggles the 8 - year - old.
One week later, the family have set off to Qingce Village, and reach there by evening. Keqing is given the go-ahead to explore while her parents unpack all their belongings. The violet - haired girl merrily traverses the area, before bumping into somebody.
"Oof!" exclaims the person. "A-Ah, I'm so sorry! That was my bad," says Keqing, reaching out her hand as the girl gratefully grasps it and gets to her feet, dusting down her dress. Keqing notices the girl's turquoise waves of hair and gleaming multicolored eyes. "Whoa! Your eyes look so cool!" exclaims Keqing. "U-Uhm, thanks for saying that, I think your pigtails are pretty cute too!" giggles the female. "Thank you! And you are?" ponders Keqing. "Ganyu! A pleasure to make your acquaintance...?" starts Ganyu. "Keqing!" she replies. "Lovely name. Is this your first time in Qingce? You don't seem to be from around here," says Ganyu.
"Mhm! I just moved from Liyue Harbor! What about you?" chuckles Keqing. "I've lived here all my life, but Liyue Harbor is definitely on my bucket list," answers Ganyu. "You talk funny. First with that big word... aquaitace and now bucket list??" says Keqing, confused. "Pfft, it's acquaintance, it basically means someone I've just met and a bucket list is just a list of places you want to travel to in the future," smiles Ganyu.
"Anywhere you wanna go?" asks Ganyu, a tinkling laugh escaping her as she places a hand on Keqing's shoulder. "Ooh, ooh, I wanna go to Mount Tianheng and hike there and go to Mondstadt to meet my friend Mona! I wanna visit Sumeru too, I heard their libraries are incredible!" relays Keqing, all in a rush.
Ganyu chortles at her reply, before passing her a flower. "Aha, I know what this is! It's a Glaze Lily, right?" asks Keqing. "Yup! From what I've heard, they're not common in Liyue Harbor," replies Ganyu. "That's true, I've only ever seen two in my whole life and forget being allowed to take one, let alone touch it. Whoa, they feel so delicate and... petaly! I'll be sure to treasure this!" exclaims the girl.
"O-Oh, you don't need to go that far. These are very common here in Qingce Village," replies Ganyu, flustered. "Nah, it's the least I could do! By the way, are we friends now?" inquires Keqing."Hehe, of course! Speaking of which, you said you just moved here, right? Would you like some help with your things?" questions Ganyu. "Oh, that would be awesome! Mom told me to unpack my stuff, so help would be appreciated!" says Keqing, clutching the blue - haired girl's wrist, as she leads her to her house.
--------------------------------------
That was the day Keqing met the love of her life.
Today, Keqing and Ganyu are your regular 15 year - olds (albeit vision holders) who attend Qingce Lake Highschool. Studying is certainly not Keqing's forte, but she enjoys being able to be with her friends and learning interesting things.
Keqing is aware of how important her future will be, and so is frequently found poring over websites looking for the perfect university to attend.
When Ganyu came out to her, it was like Keqing suddenly saw her in a new light, with strange feelings to boot.

Flashback
Ganyu and Keqing were busy eating their lunch when Keqing felt a tap on her shoulder. "Mmh?" she asks, mouth full of food. "I have something to tell you. It's kinda important..." whispers Ganyu. "Go ahead," says Keqing, leaning her head towards Ganyu. "I-I'm bisexual," she stutters out. "Isn't that when you like both boys and girls? That's super cool!" exclaims Keqing. "Thank you, Qing. I had the smallest feeling you might be homophobic, but I'm glad you aren't!" replies Ganyu. "Pfft, me? Oppose what makes people happy, so long as it doesn't harm anyone?" chuckles Keqing.
"Not to worry, Yuyu~," says Keqing, smiling at her friend. "Oh... and, one more thing. I- Uhm, may like Beidou a bit, like romantically, I mean. Like, she's so pretty and stuff, specially her eyes," mutters Ganyu. Keqing notices the tips of her ears flush red in embarassment, before patting the girl on the back. "Hey, good taste!" she exclaims.
At the time, Keqing didn't pay attention to Ganyu's attraction for Beidou.
It's not like they could both like each other, could it?
And whilst she was dealing with her emotions for Beidou, Keqing was dealing with her own for the blue - haired maiden.
For some reason, it made Keqing feel weird when Ganyu said she found Beidou attractive. She knew Beidou was pretty but it just felt... wrong.
Keqing felt weird over Ganyu constantly talking about Beidou over and over again. It was like Ganyu would abandon Keqing for Beidou without a second thought.
Could it be love?
No way, I can't like my best friend.
I'm just being absurd now.

At School
"Keqing, Keqing!" calls out a voice. "A-Ah, sorry, I was daydreaming," Keqing mutters. "No worries, we have PE with Mr Childe next, so we should probably make haste," says Ganyu, smiling at me. Keqing lightly flushes at Ganyu's smile; it was like a beam of bright light.
The two girls walk to their next lesson, PE, where a cheerful Mr Childe greets them. "Hey there, girls!" he exclaims, as the pair wave back polietly. "Alright everyone, let's go! Today we're doing trampolining," he shouts, clapping his hands. We all quickly get changed and go inside the hall.
