He just watched from the waters as father approaches the big house where his grandfather lived, where he never could go. But what brought him up on the surface to watch his father was the unknown presence he felt. He felt so cold and uneasy so he came to see if his father was alright.

Watching the weird hooded man talking to his father as they enter made Galet want to come inside and look but he knew he was too big. Maybe because he was scared that father would be angry at him or how people would react to him. Yes, he knew he was different since birth as he never had legs, nor feet nor a normal sound for a human. He was different, he and all his siblings.

He just floated on the river as his body was hidden but his head was visible. He knew people would think he was a bird as only showed his upper part of the head where it looked like a shell. His blue eyes blink as he tried not to be bored as he could hear Shako's booming roar alert him. He let out a moaning sound with high-pitched tone as an answer as the younger one goes away. Good, he was just a distraction at this point.

He just watched and due to his blurry and yet sharp sight he could see everything, any human and their heartbeat.

He did not knpw how many time passed as father did not return. Galet was disappointed as he turned to sink into the river further to go swimming with the little fish. That was when he heard familiar thumping sound of a heartbeat making Galet turn to look t his fathers expecting eyes as he stood there waiting for an answer.

He watched father sigh as he jumped the stone that led to the river. He easily came down to sit on the edge dipping his boots in the water.

They just stood there as Galet looked at his father with guilt.

"You should not be here at broad daylight where anyone can see you", fathers gentle deep voice made Galet just blink his eyes.

"I know you are trying to protect me Galet, but you have to realize that our house does not like mysteries or blessings from the Gods. What if they took you away from me?"

No, Galet thought, he would not let it happen ever. His father won't see him hurt but Galet's worse fear was them doing something to his father. Galet knew how cruel the people were as he heard their stories from where he would sneak to listen or just simply watch them. He saw them fighting like animals and hurt others... he saw many things a child's eye should not see but Galet could not care less as he wanted to protect his family.

Galet let out soft moaning as he got his hand from under the water and started to play with the water. Creating father and him swimming together and hugging. He heard father laugh and that made him look up to see father with a happy smile as he looked around trying to see something or see if they were alone.

"Can you see anyone?", he asked Galet as he also looked. No one was there except them. He shook his head looking at father as father stood up stretching.

"Let us go somewhere", as soon as father said that Galet felt joy in his heart sa he started to splash with his tail making father laugh harder. Galet adjusted his neck as father slowly approached him carefully getting on. Galet could feel father's legs and hands as he climbed on him, slowly picking where to go. He could feel his body fall on him and soon enough Galet heard father's approval before he set off. He was not flying fast as he savored this moment between them. His head was slowly rising and falling as he beat his wings to go. His body slithered in the air as he felt father's grip on him. They were up high as Galet soared through the sky letting the wind take them as they see Shako going past them roaring happily.

Father was gleeful and happy, as they were in the air, alone, but so was he. Galet did not let out a roar as they passed a fishing boat. The people were so active in here that Galet took it upon himself to help the poor people.

"You know... We should of done this then go swimming together", Father spoke after a comfortable silence.

Galet snorted a laugh as he glided through the sky. He loved all the times at night when father would come to play with him and even swim. Since he was little Galet would never go into the water unless father was with him and when all of them were mature enough he knew he had to live in his home.

His home might be dark and vast but he liked it as he felt free.
