Hope's History (Chapter 1)

A boy with white hair in a brown school uniform was dragging bags filled with soda cans across the floor. They all seemed to come from the vending machine.

White Haired Boy: "Heh. These are much harder to carry in groups."

???: "Need some help?"

The white haired boy turned to see another boy with brown hair and a dark green vest with short white sleeves and black distressed jeans. Carrying a black backpack over his shoulder.

White Haired Boy: "Yeah, thanks."

The other boy grabbed three of the bags that the white haired boy was carrying. Making the job much easier.

Brown Haired Boy: "Where the hell did all these even come from? Did you actually pay for all this?"

The white haired boy chuckled.

White Haired Boy: "No, I actually got them from the vending machine, with a dollar fifty."

The brown haired boy looked at him funny.

Brown Haired Boy: "That's a... joke right?"

White Haired Boy: "That's just how my luck works."

Brown Haired Boy: "Never really believed in luck. Maybe I should start."

The white haired boy looked carefully at the other boy's clothes.

White Haired Boy: "Wouldn't you be at school, like me?"

Brown Haired Boy: "Our class actually shut down 'bout an hour ago. You, go to Hope's Peak right?"

White Haired Boy: "How did you know that?"

Brown Haired Boy: "I've met someone with that same outfit."

White Haired Boy: "Oh, you're the guy that Nanami told me about. Um...-"

Brown Haired Boy: "Hajime. Hajime Hinata."

Hajime reached his hand towards the white haired boy, aiming for a handshake. The other boy did indeed shake his hand.

White Haired Boy: "Nagito Komaeda."

The two continued their way to Hope's Peak and just before they could go any further.

Guard: "Hey! What do you think you're doing walking in here like that!?"

Hajime: "Oh right. Seems I can't go much farther. Sorry 'bout that."

Guard: "Did you not hear what I said!?"

Nagito: "We heard, he was just helping me out!"

Hajime: "Exactly, so quit throwing a fit."

Guard: "What was that-"

???: "Oh hey!"

Suddenly another Hope's Peak student arrived, a shorter girl with brown hair and brown eyes with a black and white headdress.

???: "Do you guys need help with that?"

Hajime: "He does, I can't go any farther."

Nagito: "Oh, Taira-san! How wonderful to see you!"

???: "You know you don't have to be so formal."

Nagito turned to Hajime who look rather confused.

Nagito: "Oh, right. Hajime, this is Akane Taira, the Ultimate Maid. Akane, this is Hajime Hinata."

Akane took a bow.

Akane: "Pleasure to meet you!"

Hajime: "And you."

Nagito: "Anyway, we should probably get going now, nice meeting you!"

Akane: "Oh here, let me take these."

Akane reached for the remaining bags and Hajime set them in her hands. The two walked off into the school and realized that Nagito had snuck one into Hajime's backpack.

Hajime: "Heh. Nice guy."
