The last few days on the island flew by. I spent a lot of time with Kawaii~chan, which was pretty refreshing! I realized it was a bit difficult to keep up with her energy, but I'm sure I'd get used to it. She seems like a sweet person, after all. Currently, we were all on our cruise back home. Everyone was doing their own thing, until Aaron corralled Kawaii~chan, Katelyn, and I together in my cabin.
"I need to ask you three something," he began. "I know how you guys and Aph were looking forward to all living together, but—"
"NO!" Katelyn interjected.
"Are you gonna ask Aph to move in with you?!" I exclaimed.
"That isn't gonna be happening," Katelyn seethed.
"Katelyn~sama!" KC whined.
Aaron sighed. "I understand how close you all are, but...I really like Aph. I want to take the next step cause this summer went really great for us."
"That's great and all, but...I don't like the fact that I wouldn't be able keep an eye on you!" Katelyn protested. "I know it'd make Aph really happy, but..."
I placed a gentle hand on Katelyn's shoulder. "It really is Aph's choice whether she accepts or not. Plus, they'd still be on the same street as us! It wouldn't be too bad."
"Y/n~chan is right! And Kawaii~chan isn't just saying that cause her ship is sailing!"
Katelyn's brows were furrowed as she wore a frown. "...Fine. You can ask her. But you better do it soon before I change my mind!"
Aaron nodded. "I'm asking her tonight during the fireworks show."
Katelyn shrugged before kicking Aaron out of the room.
"Fireworks show?" I questioned.
"Yeah, it's apparently to send us off," Katelyn explained. "If you're looking for someone to watch them with, I could be your girl~"
"Oh, what happened to Travis?"
Katelyn sighed. "We're...on a bit of a break. We both have some room to grow before dating."
"Awww... Kawaii~chan is sad to hear that, Katelyn~sama. Hopefully things can get better soon!"
"Thanks, Kawaii~chan. Anyways, we'll leave you to your own stuff, Y/n. Let me know about tonight, okay? Don't even think about falling for Gene." Her demeanor turned dark before she sent me a wink and left my room with Kawaii~chan.
"I knew I shouldn't have told her about my wavering thoughts! I just keep getting confused!" I think.
"What's this about falling for me?"
My shoulders jumped at the sound of Gene who had emerged out of our bathroom. "Uh— nothing. It...was a joke."
Because of Aaron and Aph sharing a room and everyone else choosing their room assignments, leaving me with no girl to pair with, I ended up having to share a room with Gene. The ship was relatively packed, so we weren't able to get separate rooms... It wasn't too bad, as we had our own beds. No cliché stuff!
"What's the punch line?" He smirked.
I sheepishly laughed. "You had to be there!"
"I was literally on the other side of the door..."
"...Yeah! And that's the joke cause 'The Other Side Of The Door' is the name of a Taylor Swift song! Do you want me to sing it for you? Be warned, I'm not good at singing so you probably wanna find something else to do cause I might just want to sing more than one song."
