We arrived at our hotel, and I got a lot of compliments and congratulations. Being a bride is so fun!! I chatted with my admirers, giggling as I recounted the days events. I ended my interactions by handing out Gene's business card and my art "business" card. Gene was occupied with checking into our room, but when he returned to me, he wore a bamboozled expression. The mystery at hand was: where did I even pull out the business cards from? The world will never know!! Before I could hand out anymore, Gene dragged me away, and we were soon in our suite.

After inspecting the room, I stood at the foot of the bed. "Wow, so this is what a honeymoon suite looks like? It's too nice to touch!!" I glanced over my shoulder at the rose petal heart on the bed. How could I possibly lay on that? Let alone anything else...

"They're meant to be used, or else they wouldn't be open for people. As for the bed, well...they can't keep the same petals forever."

I rested my arms on his shoulders and brought my face close to his. "Is that so? Why not?'

"One, they'd wither up." He wrinkled his nose. "Two, reasons I'd demonstrate if my wife wasn't drunk."

"Wife!" I giggled. "I-I'm not drunk, though." I tugged on his shirt collar as I fell back onto the bed, and he fell with me, putting his hands on either side of my head.

"Y/n," he chided.

"What do I do? You're too much for me today!"

"You're too much for me everyday, but that's all the more reason to love you."

"So cheesy!" I tugged at my wedding dress, lifting it up and up and—

Gene stopped me. "You have to get up anyways to take off your makeup; don't get too comfortable."

"Can my sweet husband at least help me?"

He kissed my cheek and sat up next to me. "I know what you're trying to do."

"This is one of my weaknesses you're supposed to help me with!" I whined.

"We vowed in sickness and in health, Y/n. Not in weaknesses and in strengths."

Oh same thing!! Why won't you... "This is a sickness, then! I am lovesick for you."

I slid down to the edge of the bed, but...I ended up sliding off. Gene looked over me and laughed. He got up and helped me sit at the end of the bed, lifting my gown up so I wasn't sitting on it. One of his hands reached for my dress's zipper, and my heart rate began to pick up as he pulled it down.

"It's just like prom," I remarked. "We'd just need to be in the bathroom."

"It's not just like prom. I'm only helping you get your dress off and immediately dressed in pajamas."

A big smile overtook my face as I noticed the red tips of Gene's ears. It was so long ago, is he actually shy about it? Who knew my husband was so shy!!

"My husband!!" I exclaimed.

The corners of his mouth lifted; he radiated warmth. "My wife!" He flicked my head. "Is an idiot."

Warmth is a lie! He's a sneaky snake! I pouted and stood up, walking over to my overnight bag and fishing out my pajamas and skin care items. "I'll just get ready for bed, then."

"Good girl," he said.

"Don't call me thaaaattttt!!" I scampered off to our bathroom and slammed the door behind me, earning a warning from Gene to keep it down.

I hoisted my dress over my head and smiled as I put on my "pajamas", which was really just one of Gene's shirts. I performed my tedious skin care routine and returned to Gene, who had changed into a black t-shirt and gray sweatpants. I flopped onto the bed next to him. He smiled at me, and I smiled back. I drew close to him, and he wrapped an arm around me while I placed a hand on his face and pressed my lips to his.
