I'll Go On

I'll Go On Part 10

He knew it, this morning at the lake he saw it in your eyes. If you felt just an ounce of what his feelings were for you, your world would be flipped upside down. What would you do if he told you he made the biggest mistake of his life?

By lunch, your head was swirling. You were upset, he had no right to do that to you. It felt like smelling him again for the first time in a long time had triggered something within you. You looked in the mirror and your pupils were dilated.

"Y/n, I hope you're hungry! I picked up a few of your favorites from Hogsmeade."

You turned around and saw your adoring husband holding a bag of food with one hand, smiling at your daughter who was in his other hand.

"Awe, if it isn't my two favorite people!" You went to reach out for your daughter.

Sirius passed her to you, kissing your cheek, "How has your day been so far?"

You held your daughter smiling, "It's been a day but nothing to worry about. How has yours been?"

He looked stressed, "I have to go see Bellatrix... The Order thinks I should try to convince her to change her wicked ways."

"Ah, do be careful, will you?" You caressed his cheeks.

"Of course, I can't leave you even if I tried. I love you too much." He kissed the palm of your hand and began to put together your lunch.

You played with Y/d/n, smiling at her giggles, "Who has the most beautiful eyes, hm? You do my darling, yes you do. My pretty girl."

"What did I tell you about speaking in the third person?" Sirius chortled, kissing your forehead.

All three of you were eating when Severus barged in. He looked panicked, panting and holding his chest. You stood up quickly rushing to his side, forcing him to sit down.

"What's happened?" You were so worried. So worried that you didn't see Sirius' tense body.

"It's happening... The war is about to begin." Severus huffed out.

Your body became rigid, you looked at Sirius with so much worry, "You are not to go see Bella tonight."

Sirius' eyes furrowed, "I'll be fine, Y/n."

You shook your head, "No, you mustn't! Please, Sirius... if not for me then for Y/d/n."

Sirius agreed and waited for Severus to go into detail, "Black I've ordered a meeting to commence. It's about to start, would you mind giving me a moment, alone, with Y/n?"

Sirius always hated the insecurity Severus made him feel. He looked between the two of you and nodded his head. You were aware of Sirius' concern and you had to admit... he had a reason to be. Sirius left the room, taking Y/d/n to Hagrid.

You looked at Severus, who was more pale than usual. "Breathe, go tell Lily and make a plan. We will figure this out, Severus."

"I-I needed to tell you first. You need to go, you need to take Y/d/n and run!"

"Severus-" You were cut off by Severus' lips crashing into yours.

Then... you kissed him back, it took you both by surprise.

He pulled away, caressing your cheek, "please, run."

You rested your head in his hand, "this is not what I had planned for our lives."

Severus then had a flashback:

Severus woke up to you, holding a cupcake up to his face, "Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday, happy birthday..." You plopped down on the bed, "Happy birthday, darling! You are a year older, how does it feel?"

He rubbed his eyes, "For once, I feel happy."

He took the cupcake from your hand, taking a giant bite. You kissed his sweet lips covered with frosting, giggling at the huge smile he had on his face.

Severus flipped you around and hovered over you, "This is not what I had planned for my life but I couldn't be happier."

"Oh, honey, I am so happy that you exist in this world, in my world!" You pulled him down and began to make out with him...

He teared up, "nor did I darling."

You collected your things before anything else could happen. "Be safe and go tell your wife. You don't want to relive that night. We might have history but what you have with her i-is something I could never give you."
