Society killed the teenager
When it told him that he was fine.
Society killed the teenager
When it the blades look so divine.
Society killed the teenager
When it told him what to be.
Society killed the teenager
When it told him that life was a cup of tea.
Society killed the teenager
When it showed him fairy tales.
Society killed the teenager
When it told him that he'd never fail.
Society killed the teenager
When it said that it'd always be there.
Society killed the teenager.
When it acted like it cared.
Society killed the teenager
When it told him that it wasn't alright to
like the same as him.
Society killed the teenager
When he was sad and lonely.
So society sits and says
"If only. If only."
"If only we could have seen the signs."
"He always acted happy."
But upon a peek of wrist one might have clearly see
That he definitely was not as happy as could be.
