The Past (Book 2)

Chap 4

Ingressus POV

*groans*

I wake up and open my eyes slowly. Everything's blurry at first but then I can see it. I can feel the dust around and the room has a dim light. There are so many boxes and unusual things and stuff. Is he in the warehouse? I thought.

I'm sitting in the corner of the room and trying to move my hands but they aren't moving, still wondering what happened. I heard footsteps coming in this direction. I'm waiting and a shadow appears from the door 10 blocks away from me. Don't know what to do so I decide to pretend to sleep. I'm taking a peek from my eyelids and closing them again as they now stop right in front of me. They squatted and choked me, it surprised me. 

"I knew you were already awake, don't you dare to lie to us", He said while choking me for a while. 

After that he let me go and I took a deep breath before turning my face towards him. If he can read my mind why I couldn't move. He said that I have given an injection that made me limp, weak, and hopeless. Then someone with a feminine voice shouts out loud, calling him. 

"Lius, what are you doing? Bring him here now!"

'Oh, so his name's Lius, Lius Nestoris'.

"Could you not bother me for one sec!?"

"I don't care!"

After that, the footsteps can be heard walking away. He sighs, grabs my arm, and drags me along the way to the other room. On the way, I asked him where I was and where my friend had gone. He said that I'll know the answer soon if I didn't do anything stupid and follow everything they told me. 

A few minutes later we arrived at the room they were talking about. He knocks on the door and someone with the same voice said to come in. He opened the door and in the room presented 3 ardoni, a Mendoris, and 2 Sendaris. The mendoris sits on a wheelchair and a large table in front of him with some documents and some stuff, as the 1st sendaris guard the door and the other stand near the window behind the mendoris, watching every movement on the outside from the inside. There is also a chair for me to sit face-to-face with the mendoris.

Lius put me down on the chair and stood behind me. Still, with my limp body, I tried to move while the mendoris introduced herself. 

"I bet you're still wondering what happened? Well, let me introduce myself. My name is Rein Mendoris and I am the leader of this organization."

I listen to her carefully.

"I know you were worrying a friend. She's alright and now resting in the medical room. You can visit her later but after that, we must teleport you back", she said.

"What are you doing to them?" I asked. 

"We were informed that many of the children got abused by their parents/family lately, to keep them safe is to find a place by teleporting them to somewhere where no one can disturb them again and regain their trust to interact with people once again." She said while I thought about it, someone gave me an injection.

"We gave you an injection for you to move again. We hope you understand why we did this", she said.

I try to move my arms, body, and legs. I can sense them again.

"Can I meet my friend?" I asked.

"Yes, of course. After that, you can go back to your home tomorrow," she said and I nodded.

Rein gestured to Lius to bring me to Zefyx, she said she's now in the medical room. On the way, I had a little conversation with Lius, such as 'how did he end up here?' or anything like that. A few minutes later, we arrived in front of the room. Lius knocks on the door and the same person opens it up. She allows us to enter the room and then I see Zefyx, sitting on the bed while eating a cookie. Lius told me that her name is Alyra then he asked her to leave me with Zefyx alone.

I take a few steps to approach her and she flinches a little bit then spends her cookie. There was an awkward silence, so I started first. I clear my throat. 

"How are you?"

"..."

"I'm sorry-"

"No, it's… it's fine."

"Why? Why didn't you tell me before."

"... I-I-I don't want to make you worried," she whispered.

"Why are you here? Why are you following me? I don't like being followed,"

I can't answer that, I ask her again. 

"Do you want to stay here? I hope you go home with me because I need a friend,"

"You already have some friends out there. I'm sorry but no, I don't want to be a burden for my (fake) family. I hope you understand. I can't take it. No, not anymore,"

With that, she leaves me and I follow her, there are Lius and Alyra. She hugged Alyra while Lius glanced at me and told both of them to the main room he approached me and said,

"Well done, Ingressus. Now that you have already finished doing chit chat, let's tell Rein,"

"Can I stay for a few days?"

"You can ask Rein for that. I'm not in charge in this place,"

After that, we went back to Rein's office but she wasn't there. Lius told me to wait while I'm looking around her office. There are so many catalogs and files. But my eyes fixed on that tag, one name, one word that I have missed for so long, Tygren.
