Tommy trudged back to his room, his eyes puffy from crying. He's been doing that way too often and he hated it. He didn't need Tubbo or Wilbur's help. He was going to find the Serenity all by himself, take it to Fremoor all by himself, and finally prove himself once and for all. Neither of them would ever understand how he felt. Ever since he was a child, he lived in their shadows. There wasn't a day where people didn't compare him to his brothers. He realized a long time ago that he will never be good enough, no matter how hard he tried. Everyone praised Wilbur. They had hopes for him! Everyone loved Tubbo. He found it annoying how everyone would gush over his brother's charisma and effortless friendly attitude.
And then there was insufferable, useless, and talentless Tommy. Nothing like his brothers. Is he really the king's son? He's nothing like him! Well, today is the day Tommy proves them all wrong. He won't just prove them wrong, no no, he'll make them sorry! He'll show everyone that he's better than Wilbur and Tubbo combined! People will hear him. People will love him. And most importantly of all,
They will all finally respect him.
Tommy gripped his doorknob and threw his door open, slamming it shut behind him. His breath hitched once he noticed Sam was already inside.
And he was at his desk, looking at the sketch of the Serenity.
"S-Sam! It's nice to finally see you after all of this time! I take it you've been busy with ah... Technoblade?" He stammered, hoping Sam didn't already read the letters he had exchanged with Ranboo. He should have hidden them. Why didn't he?
Sam was unresponsive. He then aggressively placed the paper down. "I came to check up on you. Technoblade told me you and Wilbur have been distant lately." He whispered. He then turned around, looking at Tommy with a look of pity, "What has the Prince of Fremoor put into your head? Tommy, he's manipulating you!" He cried out, inching closer towards Tommy. The prince shook his head, "N-No! You're wrong! He's my friend!"
Sam breathed in hastily, "Oh my god Tommy what is this about trying to go to Fremoor? What did he do to you to the point where you think it's right to go against your own kingdom?" Tommy felt the walls closing in. He seemed to be getting bigger and bigger... Or maybe it was Tommy who was shrinking. "I'm not going against Zariya! You don't understand!"
"Tommy let me help you. This isn't you! What would your father think? Look I know this war has you stressed but I can help you. Please, we have to get this nonsense out of your head!" Sam cried out, grabbing Tommy's arm. "No Sam you don't get it! I'm fine! What I'm doing is good for us!" another person does not believe him. Another person is not willing to listen to him. Yet again he's treated like a clueless child. "Tommy you've gone mad... I didn't know it could be this bad! We don't have enough time..."
.....
"Tommy you don't understand now but after we take down Fremoor, we'll come back and help you," Sam muttered, closing the gate to the cell he had locked Tommy in. "Sam, what the hell is the matter with you? Why would you do this to me? We don't have time, we're all going to die if you don't let me out! Sam please!" Tommy begged, trying his best to pry the door open. Sam looked at him, his pained eyes locking with Tommy's, "I care about you, My Prince. I won't let him manipulate you again. I'm doing this for your own good, even if it hurts me. Don't worry. I'll come back for you as soon as I can. I'm doing this to keep you safe. I can't let you go out and do something drastic."
Tommy felt his panic turn into the tears that stung his eyes once more, "Sam please..." He whispered, "Don't leave me here."
"I'm sorry, my prince. But this is for your own good."
