Wilbur struggled to breathe properly in his suit as he was crowded by multiple servants, help, and planners for the day. Today was his twenty-first birthday which meant that in a few hours, he would be King of Zariya. He'd been on edge the entire week. Everything was happening so fast. He spent the entire morning getting ready. He didn't care what he wore, or how his hair looked. He just needed some time to himself to calm the growing pit in his stomach.

After he finally built up the courage to shoo everyone from his quarters, he bolted towards his balcony, making sure to close the doors behind him. He let out a sigh. He walked over to the railing and leaned on it, looking over the bright and vivid kingdom. The kingdom that would be his in only a few hours. He wanted this. He needed this. He'd been preparing his entire life to be king. He's meant for this. Maybe he felt like backing down just because of the stress. What if he wasn't as charismatic or as bright as his father? He didn't want to risk starting any wars. Especially when his father almost died right in front of him to end one.

He technically, by law, and according to his grades, was ready to be king. But he didn't feel ready. He feels as if he'll forget everything he has learned within the past eleven years the second he takes the vows as king. He felt trapped. He felt as if it was only a matter of time before the darkness closed in and swallowed him whole. He gripped the stone railing, trying to focus on the distant music of the town celebrating his birthday. He was nervous. He was beyond nervous.

"You can't stop yourself from shaking, can you?" His father called out From behind. Wilbur whipped his head around and ran to embrace his father. Ever since the events in Fremoor, he's always greeted his father with a hug. But this time, he didn't let go. Philza let out a soft chuckle as he stroked Wilbur's hair, "I was just as nervous as you are. Trust me this is the worst of it. By next month, you'll get used to it. It's a huge responsibility, but I know you can handle it. Probably so much better than me" He said.

Wilbur separated and shook his head, "Oh no dad... I don't think that's true. What if I disappoint everyone and they all hate me! You were the greatest ruler this kingdom has ever seen. You were the King the prophecy spoke about... I can't beat that..." He sighed, side-glancing the town once more. Philza smiled, walking over to lean on the railing, "Wilbur- I never accessed the power of the Serenity. I was rejected by it." He confessed.

"W-What? What do you mean? But the lilys sprouted! And you have wings!" he ranted. The King shook his head, "Wilbur the only thing from the prophecy that has started were the lilys. That's it. Dream couldn't access the power because he didn't obtain it during the right period... The story still continues. Wil" The king whispered, fixing up his son's hair. "Wh-what are you saying...?"

"Wilbur, the wings appear on the chosen one once they access the power. If I was rejected..." he made eye contact, "That only means you're the one the legend speaks of."

There was a pause. Him? The greatest king of all time? Better than his father? Wilbur shook his head to counter his father's nodding, "no.. no that's not true!" he yelled. The king's expression faltered, "Wil.."

"No dad that doesn't make any sense! I'm not fit to be king! I'm even less fit to be the one the prophecy speaks about! I can't do something like that!" He pleaded, "Dad look... maybe the prophecy speaks of someone else. Maybe one of our descendants..!" The King shook his head, "Wilbur I know this is a lot to take in but no matter what, You've always been able to do the impossible. Always. There's never been a time in my life where I thought you were unfit to rule as king. Tommy told me the entire story." He cupped his son's face so they could face each other, "Wilbur, he would be dead if it weren't for you. You fought your way with Techno alone into the palace and fought Dream head-on because you knew at that moment, the only thing that mattered was him. When something you love that much is put at risk, you don't think. Your body knows what must be done, and does the impossible. It's something every great king has and you proved yourself to the world that you have every trait possible to be the greatest king."
